Ed Reed's jersey caper

The mercurial Ed Reed explained his new-found love for Matt Stover's old No. 3 with the Ravens: he likes a small jersey. That's the jersey Reed has been wearing during practices this week. "That's the smallest jersey they had," Reed said. "I usually wear the No. 5 and probably would have been a big deal because of top 5 and all that stuff, but that's the smallest jersey. I just like to be comfortable at practice. "Coach [John Harbaugh] came in with, 'You have to wear game jerseys at practice,' and I just like to be comfortable." Left unexplained was why his own No. 30 jersey wasn't as comfortable.
