Edgerrin James officially announced his retirement from the NFL.
After spending a full year away from football, James admitted he has called it a career during his football camp in Immokalee (Fla.).
"I'm done playing football," the 32-year-old James said. "I'm a fan. I'm on the other side. I'm on the good side now where you can criticize people and just watch.”
A four-time All-Pro, James ranked 11th all-time on the rushing list - with only two members ahead of him not in the Pro Football Hall of Fame (Curtis Martin and Jerome Bettis).
All told, James rushed 3,028 times for 12,246 yards and 80 touchdowns. He also had 433 receptions for 3,364 yards and 11 scores.
The fourth overall pick of the 1999 draft, James rushed for 1,553 yards and 13 touchdowns during his rookie campaign with the Indianapolis Colts. He won Offensive Rookie of the Year that season.
James signed with the Arizona Cardinals in 2005. He stayed in the desert for three years.
