MR2 it doesn't matter that you're not elite. The thing that matters however is that you aren't getting the constructive criticism you deserve (aside from the lack of production in the playoffs), & you're on the verge of getting exposed once everyone comes to realize that any qb that can get the ball to great targets like the ones you have/had while you've been over glamorized by the media & your team. I see wavering leadership in the 2nd half of all your games (don't try to blame it on the defense) & I just don't see you willing to take a hit for your team to extend the play or gain extra yardage. What I do see is a hilarious amount of fanboys who consider you their last hope, so here's wishing you'll come out on top, But in all honesty, we all know you're not worth that contract, and you sure as hell need a back up qb who is ready to light a fire under your pansy a$$ for the needed motivation and a more consistent game. Can you say Alex Smith/Colin Kaepernick or Matt Flynn/Russel Wilson in the making all over again? Once the blinders are off of the fans who can see past who average of an "effective" NFL qb this guy is, I already see it coming...
Over the last few years the word “elite” seems to somehow define an NFL quarterback.
What makes a quarterback elite? It doesn’t seem there are predetermined factors that will allow us to give that title to a player?
Matt Ryan of the Atlanta Falcons is one of the best young quarterbacks in the game, elite or not.
While he might not be elite, to those imaginary standards, Ryan has more regular season wins in his five seasons with the Falcons than any other quarterback in the league... Read more

NFLer 'earns' knockout in boxing match
The NFL career of former Vikings and Falcons defensive end Ray Edwards might be over after Atlanta released Edwards in November on account of being a surly, unproductive locker room cancer unwilling to attend team meetings. If his NFL career is over, he had a fairly respectable one. He played for seven seasons, posting eight or more sacks in two of them. All in all, could be worse...

Falcons Free Agent Decision: Mike Cox
The Falcons are facing a lot of decisions this off-season and that starts with their 14 unrestricted free agents. We will go through them one by one and decide whether or not the Falcons should re-sign them. A lot of times it's not as easy as it looks as some decisions have more than just roster spot implications. We also have to think about the salary cap as it is expected...
Ray Edwards is now boxing, knocked a guy out without actually hitting him (Video)
Former NFL defensive end Ray Edwards looks like he’s taken up a career in boxing.
In the video above Edwards knocks a man out without even touching him. The other guy was clearly scared and decided to flop down. I don’t blame him since he’s obviously a lot smaller.

NFL Rumors: Atlanta Falcons to move on from RB Michael Turner
The Atlanta Falcons are expected to part ways with veteran RB Michael Turner this offseason according to Dan Pompei of the National Football Post. This should come as no surprise. Despite a solid performance against the Seattle Seahawks in the playoffs, Turner has simply run out of gas. He turns 31 on Wednesday and appears to have lost a step.
Turner mustered only 800 yards this...

Ray Edwards: From NFL to Air Boxer
((ht: deadspin.com))
Oh how the mighty have fallen.
Former NFL Defensive End Ray Edwards was let go mid-season in 2012 by the Atlanta Falcons for basically getting paid to underperform.

Could Falcons Cut CB Dunta Robinson?
Last year's franchise player Brent Grimes is headed for unrestricted free agency after tearing his Achilles tendon and safety William Moore is also a free agent after a terrific season. The team have two high-priced veteran cornerbacks in Asante Samuel and Dunta Robinson, but it's worth wondering if both players will be back.
As noted by Pat Yasinskas of ESPN.com, Robinson...
Something about Ray Edwards’ boxing career isn’t right
Former Minnesota Vikings and Atlanta Falcons defensive end Ray Edwards has been having trouble finding work in the NFL. He was referred to as a locker room cancer, despite the fact he had a fairly productive career, posting 8+ sacks twice in a seven-year career. As a new career, Edwards picked up boxing, although his skills seem to be lacking and this fight is absolutely staged...
A Boxing Flop Soccer Players Would Be Proud Of
Former Vikings defensive end Ray Edwards is a boxer, or he would like you to think he is. During his latest fight he fought a last minute opponent who was much smaller, had shorter reach, and had a fairly large belly. That man’s name was Mike Smith, and Miek Smith wanted nothing to do with Ray Edwards. Check out the technically not TKO by Ray with a massive whiff to Mike’s...
