It’s easy to get caught up in the playoff implications and several of the records and milestones that could be broken and reached this weekend, but another story should be highlighted: will the Jets game on Sunday be the last for future Hall of Fame running back LaDainian Tomlinson?
The three time All-Pro is 32-years-old and has been in the league for eleven years. The San Diego Chargers picked him fifth overall in the 2001 NFL draft. He rushed for at least 1,000 yards in every season with San Diego except his last. Tomlinson lead the NFL in rushing twice and rushing touchdowns three times. It’s hard to think of a running back that was better than Tomlinson during that span.
After a down year, for him, in 2009, Tomlinson found new life with the New York Jets. He rushed for 914 yards and scored six touchdowns helping the Jets return to the AFC Championship in 2010. Unfortunately, much like the rest of his career, Tomlinson came up just short of playing in the Super Bowl...
