Well, so much for that. The trade that was suppose to send Eric Wright to the San Francisco 49ers was voided after the troubled cornerback failed his physical, hence voiding the trade. Shortly after, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers released him after the failed physical.
The news was first reported by Mark Cook of PewterReport.com.
Wright can’t seem to get his (football) life together. He has always said money isn’t what he is after. His constant suspensions and his apparent lack of care for his career proves that statement.
Many criticized Bucs general manager Mark Dominik for the initial move to trade Wright last Friday. But now it looks like the Bucs may have known more about what was going on with Wright, however that’s just speculation.
Since the trade was voided, the Bucs do not have to pay Eric Wright’s 2013 salary of $1.5 million.
