The Cardinals got some relief at the middle linebacker position by signing Ernie Sims to a one-year contract. Chris Wesseling of NFL.com wrote that Sims is “speedy but undersized and lacking playmaking ability, Sims has been a below-average starter in run support, pass rush and coverage skills.”
Arizona is looking to figure out a solution to the middle linebacker issue. It’s a big drop in talent from Karlos Dansby and Daryl Washington to Kevin Minter and either Larry Foote or Sims at those spots.
This position has gone from one of the most secure to the least secure over the course of the offseason. Arizona has problems covering tight ends last season and this situation makes them even more vulnerable.
That leads us to the poll question for this post. How many scores will tight ends get against the Cardinals in 2014?
How many TDs will the Cardinals allow to tight ends in 2014?
