Less than a handful of times people can recall when sports and theatre have mixed. The yet-to-be-released play 'Lombardi' - based on David Maraniss' impressive biography When Pride Still Mattered - was talked and discussed in detail Monday evening at Lambeau Field, amongst Packers fans of all ages.
To show how important and inspiring this Broadway play is to the people of Green Bay, Lauria received a standing ovation after he finished a brief portrayal of Vince Lombardi's speech in an opening scene. The crowd rose, clapped and cheered when he ended with, "We only want winners."
This original piece will bring the art and sports audience together to watch one of the most iconic Americans of the 20th Century, Vince Lombardi.
A long time coming, this historic play opens Oct. 21 at Circle in the Square in New York, and is about one of the most famous men in Green Bay history and quite possibly NFL coaching history. The man who will be representing the legenda...
