Generally regarded as a major bust, wide receiver David Terrell spent four disappointing years in Chicago, totaling just 1,602 receiving yards after becoming the eighth overall pick in 2001.

Following years of obscurity, Terrell recently came out of the woodwork to defend himself, blaming others -- notably the Bears' quarterbacks -- for his lackluster outings.

"I led the league for like the first four games with Rex Grossman at quarterback,” Terrell said, via RedEyeChicago.com. “Until Rex Grossman breaks his foot against Minnesota. Did you forget that? I think you musta’ forgot about that. Man, I led the league in like every category basically until Rex broke his foot. When Rex broke his foot, after that, the season was over. I caught, I mean, I had nine different quarterbacks after Rex Grossman. I caught a ball from nine different quarterbacks in one year. Did you forget that?”

Apparently, he likes to exaggerate. The Bears, at the time, only carried four QBs on the roster, not nine. Also, he didn't the league for "like" anything.

Nevertheless, Terrell wishes it could've turned out differently. The 34-year-old reflected on the present time, as the Bears are currently anchored by Jay Cutler, who's largely become the club's franchise signal-caller.

And if you're wondering what Terrell would've given up to catch passes from Cutler ... well, let's just say too much.

"I would have cut off both my balls. I’d give those up, no problem," Terrell said. "You could have neutered me. I woulda been neutered with a smile. S**t, man, for real."

OK, then.
