Free agent safety George Wilson liked what he saw – and heard — from the Titans during his visit earlier this week. He could see himself playing for the team in 2013, in fact, after spending time with defensive coordinator Jerry Gray and senior assistant Gregg Williams, along with head coach Mike Munchak. “I definitely think it is a good fit with everything Jerry Gray and Coach Williams envisions for the defense next season,’’ Wilson said. “They want to take the defense a step further by adding some veteran leadership and depth at positions and they certainly expressed a desire to have me as a piece of their puzzle. “They made it quite clear what they are looking for from me, and I think I fit the bill for what they are looking for as well.” Wilson, who spent the past eight years with the Buffalo Bills, isn’t quite ready to make a decision yet, however. Wilson visited the Lions on Thursday, one day after visiting the Titans. He expects his agent to talk with other teams at the NFL Combine next week in Indianapolis. “I certainly don’t want to make a decision before I know what all my options are. This is my first time to experience free agency,’’ said Wilson, who was released by Buffalo on Monday. Wilson is from Paducah, Ky., and he played football at Arkansas, where he was teammates with Titans offensive coordinator Dowell Loggains. “I am very pleased with my visits so far, but Tennessee is close to home. I have a lot of family in the Nashville area close to Paducah,’’ he said. “I am not going to rush it, but I would definitely like to make a decision so I can find a home.” Source: The Tennessean

Buffalo Bills jettison veteran cornerback McGee

The Buffalo Bills shakeup continues as they parted ways with 11-year veteran cornerback Terrence McGee on Thursday. McGee was one of the longest tenured members of the Bills, playing for the team for 10 seasons. McGee had one year remaining on his contract for an affordable $1.75 million next season but he would have counted roughly $4.5 million against the salary cap for the Bills...

Tarvaris Jackson Coming Back Isn’t a Bad Thing: Bills News Wrap Up

Yesterday morning, the Bills cut QB Tavaris Jackson. When I first saw the text from “Buddy Nix” (how the Bills texts show up on my phone), I only saw Jackson’s name and didn’t really give it any thought considering the QB was almost never active for the team. But quickly the angry/mocking tweets started to emerge and it became clear that no, Tavaris Jackson was re signed...

Tarvaris Jackson has agreed to a one-year, $4.5 million deal with Buffalo. SOURCE: buffalobills.comFantasy Spin:Bills coach Doug Marrone says the starting job is up for grabs. If Jackson has a good training camp, he could conceivably be the team's Week 1 starter at quarterback. His main competition will be last year's starter Ryan Fitzpatrick (24 TD, 16 INT, 83.3 QB rating).

The Buffalo Bills announced on Friday that they’ve re-signed quarterback Tarvaris Jackson and he’ll have the opportunity to compete with Ryan Fitzpatrick for the starting job. “I spoke with Ryan (Fitzpatrick) and Tarvaris (Jackson) and told them we will have an open competition at the quarterback position – similar to what we will do at all positions on our team heading into...

Buffalo Bills re-sign QB Tarvaris Jackson

On paper, this deal isn’t a terrible value. Tarvaris Jackson can earn up to 4.5 million with incentives with this deal, which isn’t unreasonable for a solid backup quarterback, which is what I think Jackson is. No longer is Jackson the “project/developmental quarterback.” He turns 30 in a couple of months and he’s as good as he’s going to get. He’s now an experienced...

Just For Kicks: Comparing, contrasting AFC East kickers thanks to a slow news day

It's a slow news day. And since this is AFC East Daily and not SportsCenter, we won't try to create a story where there isn't one. We'll just pass the time. So no news is good news -- for the kickers. The AFC East has a pretty good dynamic of boots, so it's only fair they get their annual 400(ish) words of fame.Who better to start with than Buffalo Bills kicker...
