Former Denver Broncos running back Laurence Maroney, who was charged here in March with misdemeanor marijuana possession, was acquitted after a trial before a judge on Tuesday in St. Louis Circuit Court. Maroney and others were arrested Jan. 17th after police approached cars slowing in traffic, smelled marijuana and located weapons in one of the cars. After the prosecution presented its case, defense attorney Scott Rosenblum sought a directed verdict, essentially saying the state did not meet its burden of proof in the case. Hogan agreed and found Maroney not guilty. "He has a lot of career left and he's looking forward to getting on with it," Rosenblum said. "Laurence is thrilled and I'm thrilled for him."
