Former Tampa Bay Buccaneers general manager Mark Dominik offered his thoughts on New England Patriots new cornerback, Darrelle Revis, during an interview with ESPNBoston.com. Dominik, the Bucs GM from 2009 to 2013, acquired Revis via trade during the 2013 offseason and said the 28-year-old has “elite anticipation.” “Revis to me, in spending time around him, has unique anticipation. Elite anticipation is probably the right way to use it,” Dominik said. “He has a way of feeling it, understanding routes, reading the hops of players, reading the eyes, [the] general feel and he’s exceptional with ball skills. He knows how to break on the ball, where to use his hands to avoid penalties, and he obviously has soft hands for interceptions. Trainer: Darrelle Revis should be even better on Patriots

If his longtime trainer is to be believed, Revis Island is ready to reclaim its victims. Brett Fischer, who's trained Darrelle Revis since his junior year at Pitt, told the Boston Herald that the star cornerback is fully healthy and should be "even better" for the Patriots in 2014. “Now that (Revis) is with a new team, obviously a winning organization like that...

Vince Wilfork’s New Patriots Contract Could Cause More Problems In 2015

The New England Patriots aren’t out of the woods yet with Vince Wilfork and contract issues. Wilfork happily will stay a member of the Patriots in 2014, but the team has a big decision to make next March. Wilfork is owed a $4 million roster bonus on the first day of the 2015 league year under his new, extended contract, as detailed by ESPN.com. If Wilfork plays well in 2014, it...

New England Patriots re-sign DT Vince Wilfork

The Patriots are ceding a lot in this extension. Rather than getting Vince Wilfork to take a pay cut, or outright cutting him, saving 8 million dollars and getting a comparable replacement like Kevin Williams for half that price, the Patriots have guaranteed 3 million dollars of Wilfork’s 2014 salary, essentially locking them into paying him 8 million dollars for next season. In...

Per Field Yates of ESPN Boston, here's the breakdown of Vince's first year (the most critical year of the extension): Signing bonus...

Humble Pie. Patriots 34, 49ers 41

With the Patriots down 31-3 just minutes into the third quarter, I couldn't help but think that this was exactly the way Houston fans must have felt six nights earlier.  I also felt just slightly guilty for all the gloating I did on Thanksgiving night in MetLift Stadium as the Patriots piled on the Jets 35-3 at halftime.  Ok, I'm lying about the second statement, but the...

Revis' longtime trainer says ACL is 'not even a factor'

BY NICK ST. DENISAs far as Darrelle Revis' camp is concerned, the past is in the past. So is a major injury.A year and a half removed from a season-ending ACL tear, Revis is training at full force early in the offseason -- leaps and bounds ahead of where he was this time last year."The fun thing for me is we’re starting with a person who played this year with basically...

New England Patriots maintain status quo on offensive line

The New England Patriots have made a number of moves in free agency to shore up the offense (re-signing wide receiver Julian Edelman and signing wide receiver Brandon LaFell) and the defense (signing cornerbacks Darrelle Revis and Brandon Browner and reworking the contracts to keep defensive tackles Vince Wilfork and Tommy Kelly). However, the team has had little activity in free...
