Although the State Attorney's Office decided not to pursue criminal charges against Clinton Hart, the NFL player who was arrested in late April following an argument with his wife, the Ocala resident believes the arrest has already dealt a blow to his career. "It was semi-detrimental to my character and my current future in the NFL because there's zero tolerance for that," he said in an interview Tuesday. Hart, a safety, played for the San Diego Chargers and St. Louis Rams in 2009 but hasn't yet been signed to play with a team for the 2010-2011 season. Hart, 32, was arrested on a charge of battery/domestic violence against his wife, Kelli, 31, although she made clear at the time Hart never touched or threatened her. "There obviously were some issues with the case," said prosecutor Toby Hunt. He said the main reason no charges were filed was because Kelli Hart "didn't want to cooperate with prosecutors."
