Ex-Eagles OC Brian Johnson loses out on Washington job
Bill Streicher-USA TODAY Sports

Former Philadelphia Eagles offensive coordinator Brian Johnson is still looking for his next move.

According to Bleacher Report's Jordan Schultz, Johnson interviewed with the Washington Commanders over the weekend for their vacant OC job.

However, the Commanders made the decision to hire Kliff Kingsbury on Sunday and made it official on Monday morning.

Johnson also interviewed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Atlanta Falcons, and Tennessee Titans for their open offensive coordinator jobs but they all chose a different candidate.

He was even dropped from the Carolina Panthers' interview process

Eagles' 2023 Late-Season Collapse Could Hurt Johnson's Future

Johnson joined the Eagles as their quarterbacks coach in 2021.

With Johnson's help, Jalen Hurts led the team to a 14-3 record and a Super Bowl run in 2022.

After two seasons coaching quarterbacks, Johnson was promoted to offensive coordinator in 2023.

Under Johnson, Philly's offense finished ranked 7th in points scored and 8th in total yards. They also made the post-season for a third straight year.

The Eagles kicked off this past season with a strong 10-1 start before losing five of their final six contests, plus a 32-9 playoff loss to the Bucs.

The late-season collapse could have many teams hesitant to hire Johnson.
