ATLANTA (AP) -- Former NFL player Kendrell Bell has accused his college football coach at the University of Georgia of duping him out of 2 million. Jim Donnan convinced Bell to invest the money in GLC Limited, a liquidation company that would buy appliances and furniture for resale, according to documents filed last month in U.S. Bankruptcy Court by Bell's lawyers. Bell's attorneys say Donnan, though, was the front man for a scam. Donnan has filed for bankruptcy protection and Bell has filed a claim in bankruptcy court to recover his money. Bell's attorneys Michael Hanson and Brian Gwitt on Friday declined to comment on the case. Donnan's lawyer Ed Tolley did not return a phone call and an email seeking comment but had said previously that the ex-coach was not involved in a scheme. Donnan has been entangled in a legal battle with the new operators of GLC, who have also accused the College Football Hall of Fame inductee of running an investment scheme for his ow...

The Pittsburgh Steelers have given permission to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to interview defensive assistant Jerry Olsavsky according to Steelers Digest. Steelers 2012 Mock Draft Version 2: Senior Bowl

Time for the second running of my Steelers Mock Draft.  The Senior Bowl has past and more tape has been watched.  Many things have changed and more info is out on all the potential draftees.  Guys have made big names for themselves with their play in the Senior Bowl.  The board is constantly shifting and some guys have had major jumps and others have fallen off the face of the...

Sixteen Long Years Ago: Dallas vs. Pittsburgh in Super Bowl XXX

Saturday marked the 16th anniversary of the Cowboys’ 27-17 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers in Super Bowl XXX. For personal reasons, I find it amazing that it has been 16 years. I moved to Texas just five days before that game and can still remember watching that game very vividly. Here is a clip of that game’s highlights: The fact that it has been 16 years is significant...

Thank god, Coach Butler is not going to Indy

The Steelers got some huge news this morning when they learned that linebackers coach Keith Butler wasn’t going to follow Bruce Arians to Indianapolis to be the Colts new defensive coordinator. While the Colts were busy trying to become the Middle-Of-Nowhere Steelers by trying to fill their training staff with Steelers coaches, the real Steelers were busy locking up one of...

The Shameless Plug Post

Since this isn’t a Pittsburgh Steelers blog, I assume everyone can read. With that in mind, please allow me to shamelessly plug my own efforts and toot my own horn (Tooooooooooooooot!). Anyway, I recently published my first book, a first-hand account of my experience as a teacher in inner-city Philadelphia. There’s no mention of Boomer [...]

Steelers to Interview Todd Haley

The Steelers will interview Todd Haley for their offensive coordinator vacancy. Fantasy Spin: Haley has proven he is not cut out for being a head coach during his short stint with the Chiefs (2009-11), but had success as an offensive coordinator with the Cardinals (2007-08). He would be a quality replacement for Bruce Arians, and his father (Dick Haley) played for the Steelers in the early 1960s.

Brett Keisel on the Pro Bowl: They “should have just put flags” on players

The first guest of the week on PFT Live undeniably has the best beard in the NFL. Possibly in the history of the world. Steelers defensive end Brett Keisel joined the show and talked about missing the Pro Bowl because he is injured. “Hawaii’s a great place. That’s the biggest reason I would go. Get my…

The Steelers and Colts may wind up unintentionally trading offensive coaches. Deposed Steelers offensive coordinator Bruce Arians has landed with the Colts.  And deposed Colts head coach Jim Caldwell may wind up in Pittsburgh. Jason La Canfora of NFL Network reports that the Steelers interviewed Caldwell for their vacant coordinator position over the weekend. They…

Todd Haley interviews with Steelers

Apparently, Steelers coach Mike Tomlin learned enough about Todd Haley while doing homework on the former Chiefs coach to decide to learn even more about him during a face-to-face meeting. The Steelers announced on the team’s official website that Tomlin interviewed Haley on Tuesday at the practice facility in Pittsburgh. There’s some scuttlebutt in media…

Steelers LB Coach Keith Butler Turns Down Colts, Will Remain In Pittsburgh

Linebackers coach Keith Butler will not become the Indianapolis Colts defensive coordinator, choosing instead to remain with the Pittsburgh Steelers, Gerry Dulac of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports. Butler and newly-hired Colts head coach Chuck Pagano were position coaches with the Cleveland Browns and Butler was scheduled to interview with the Colts on Tuesday. Butler has spent...
