I know, this is in the past, but I’d be lying if I didn’t have a morbid fascination about how successful the guys the Jets recently released or traded away have been. Were any of these huge mistakes? Here’s a quick rundown…
- QB Brett Favre – After going 1-for-4 in a brief cameo in week three, Favre got a longer chance to show what he could do in the final game with the Vikings. He made headlines with an illegal block, which led to him being fined, but performed well, completing 13 of 18 passes for 142 yards and a TD (with no interceptions!)
- QB Brett Ratliff – capped off a poor preseason by throwing an interception on his first pass as he started the last game (and ended up 8-for-20). Is expected to beat out Richard Bartel for the 3rd QB spot, but it’s close, although Ratliff has the edge purely based on what they gave up for him and the fact that he’d be less likely to clear waivers because Bartel outplayed him in preseason.
