Charles Rogers was once one of the most dynamic wide receivers in the nation.  He made headlines for the eye-popping numbers and catches he made while donning the green and white in East Lansing.  At 31, Charles Rogers should still be making headlines for plays on the football field, but any and all recent news about him as been reserved for the police blotter section.

Rogers recently completed a drug and alcohol rehabilitation program and was deemed free from custody by Saginaw County District Judge A.T. Frank’s courtroom Tuesday morning.  Rogers, a Saginaw native and former Saginaw High School football and track star was gracious for Frank’s prescribed treatment.

“He saved my life by putting me in the right situation,” Rogers said.

Of course, this doesn’t mean that Rogers’ current legal issues are behind him.  He is still facing five misdemeanor charges for a gluttony of bad decisions including making a malicious phone call threatening to kill his mother on March 5…allegedly of course.  His other charges include possessing an open container of alcohol in a vehicle, possessing marijuana and operating a motor vehicle on a suspended or revoked license Dec. 2 in Saginaw

Charles, you might want to think your statements about Judge A.T. Frank.  While he steered you in the right direction, you’re in control of the wheel, man.  And the only one that will be “saving” your life is you.
