The Atlanta Falcons have announced that they’ve activated linebacker Sean Weatherspoon with short-term injured reserve. The Falcons officially moved LB Sean Weatherspoon to the active roster Tuesday and released veteran linebacker Thomas Howard. Weatherspoon had been placed on injured reserve with the designation to return and Sunday’s game is the first he’s eligible for because of that designation. Howard, 6-3, 230 pounds, was originally selected by the Oakland Raiders in the second round (38th overall) of the 2006 NFL Draft out of the University of Texas-El Paso.
