The Atlanta Falcons might have beaten the New Orleans Saints if not for a failed fourth-and-1 in their own territory in overtime when they met earlier this season.

Bloggers this morning are choking on the Drew Brees post-game speech he gave after breaking Dan Marino’s single-season yardage record in a win over the Falcons. Look, the speech was great and all but there were two takeaways from this one. First, Saints owner Tom Benson is still a complete asshole.
Second, Brees never forgets the little behind-the-scenes guys like the equipment...
Beer Mug Sports has found the secret to Drew Brees' success. Actually Drew let the whole world know in his locker room speach after breaking Dan Marino's record for most yards passing in a season. At 1:40 in the above clip, Brees thanks "the equipment managers that rub down those balls." At 2:00 he further explains that the ball rubbing is "full service."
New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees set the record for most passing yards in a single season Monday, breaking a mark that stood since 1984.
I'm starting to come to terms with what this Saints defense is. Once again they did a tremendous job against the run and I'm starting to become a believer that the interior is meshing well together. Stopping the run the last few weeks has come at the expense of giving up some massive passing yardage, but that tactic hasn't been yielding a ton of points given up... so...
While the night belonged to Drew Brees for breaking Dan Marino's record in the 45-16 win over the Falcons, the may group I want to commend after this masterful performance is the offensive line and the running backs. The Falcons entered this game #4 in the NFL against the run and the Saints positively manhandled them. The Falcons are fortunate the Saints had a record to get...
A day after Sean Payton helped Drew Brees break the NFL's single-season passing record the coach wouldn't divulge whether he'd enable his star quarterback to maintain that distinction.
((HT: ESPN/NFL/md1021))After the New Orleans Saints put up 45 on the Atlanta Falcons last night, the team clinched the NFC South title, and there was some record set by the Saints quarterback. Not one to talk about himself, head coach Sean Payton wanted his own "bad ass" to address the team in the locker room...Here's the speech...Once again, Brees starts taking about...
Drew Brees has broken the NFL record for yards passing in a season, surpassing a mark that had stood since Dan Marino set it in 1984. Brees topped Marino's record of 5,084 yards with a 9-yard touchdown pass to Darren Sproles on Monday night against the Atlanta Falcons. Brees entered the game with 4,780 yards, needing 305 to set the record.
Drew Brees breaks NFL passing record
Power rankings. You hate them. They’re so arbitrary and pointless, especially when they include all 32 NFL teams. All you want to know after a good week of NFL action is who the bestest team in the NFL right now, and which one is the absolute barrel-scraping worst. That’s why we have TOP AND BOTTOM OF THE NFL, where we go to great lengths to tell you who’s the top dog in...
