Falcons cornerback Brent Grimes was held out of practice because of a foot injury on Sunday. “He has a foot that is bothering him,” Falcons coach Mike Smith said. “We held him out today. We are trying to get him back and ready to go.” The foot injury is unrelated to the knee injury that caused Grimes to miss five games last season, including the wild-card playoff game against the New York Giants.

Turner still eager to succeed for Atlanta

Running back Michael Turner has no doubt that he's given the Atlanta Falcons a good return on their investment. Since leaving San Diego to sign as a free agent four years ago, Turner has more than 5,000 yards rushing and 50 touchdowns. Minnesota's Adrian Peterson is the only player with better numbers. Eleven days into training camp, however, Turner still feels the sting...

Falcons RB Michael Turner Not Ready For Drastic Cut In Carries

Falcons running back Michael Turner is fine with his carries being mildly reduced in 2012. But if there is a drastic cut from his average of 20.1 carries a game over the last four seasons to say, 10 carries a game, he’ll have a major objection with the new offense that’s being installed in training camp. “I’ll just see what happens,” Turner said. “Ten carries a game, I don’t...
