Atlanta Falcons cornerback Dunta Robinson left Sunday's game against Tampa Bay with a head injury.
The team announced he will not return.
Robinson was injured on the Falcons' first defensive series when his helmet hit Doug Martin's on the running back's 3-yard gain. He was taken to the locker room for evaluation.
Asante Samuel was injured on the next play with an apparent right arm injury, but returned for the next series, knocking down a deep pass to Vincent Jackson and forcing a third down five plays later.
Dominique Franks replaced Robinson.

The Atlanta Falcons may live to regret playing their regulars in Sunday's game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. With the No. 1 seed in the NFC playoffs already wrapped up, the Falcons had nothing on the line against the Buccaneers, who were already eliminated from postseason contention. In something of a worst-case scenario, the Falcons not only lost the game, 22-17, but they...
The Bucs were hoping to bounce back against St. Louis last week following a blowout loss to the Saints the previous week. Unfortunately that did not happen and Josh Freeman had another bad game. Facing lots of scrutiny in his young career, he and the team are hoping to end the season on a high note at Atlanta. However, the Bucs may not see Atlanta’s best team on the field as they...
The Bucs wanted to end the season with a win and snap a five-game losing streak. After beating the Falcons on Sunday 22-17, they did just that and gave some sense of optimism for 2013. The Falcons put their starters in for the entire game even though they had the number one seed locked up for the NFC playoffs. On the other sidelines, Tampa Bay played their best football in all three...
When can a loss be better for a professional football team than a win? Most NFL players and coaches likely would say never. Unless, somewhere during the loss a new team star who was on the trading block is discovered.Which still translates to pretty much never. As I watched the Atlanta Falcons lose 22-17 at home to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers during the last regular season game, I tried...
