Birds Get Much Needed Boost Headed Into Bye On a Roll? (AP) The Falcons didn’t play the prettiest game in the world, but they did what had to be done to win the game. It was a hard-fought and very much earned win against a quality opponent in a hostile environment. The defense played as good as it ever has under Coach Mike Smith and DC Brian Van Gorder against a very potent offense. The offense was fairly sporadic, but did what had to be done when it counted and did some good things against a pretty tough defense. Will be back with another post very soon with more in-depth analysis, but for now let’s hear from The Bird Cage Faithful on your thoughts of the big win…………

Mughelli’s injury could hurt resurgent run attack

Detroit — The Falcons posted back-to-back victories for the first time this season by leaning on their rushing attack, which suffered a major setback as Pro Bowl fullback Ovie Mughelli suffered a knee injury. Matt Ryan's toughness impressive in win over Lions

His stats weren't impressive, but on a day when one of his offensive tackles stepped on his ankle and bent it as if it were a piece of silly putty, few will remember that Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan threw two interceptions. Instead, they'll remember Ryan coming out of the locker room after having an injured knee examined, and, on his first play from scrimmage, connecting...

Falcons Upset at Lions Ndamukong Suh For Taunting Injured Matt Ryan

When Matt Ryan ankle was stepped on, many assume myself included that his ankle could be broken. Luckily for the Falcons and Ryan he was able to come back in the game and beat the Lions. The Falcons though weren’t happy to some of the reactions of the Lions after Ryan was hurt. Here are the details. “I had respect for Suh before the game,” Falcons center Todd McClure told...

Atlanta QB Ryan briefly injured against Lions

Atlanta quarterback Matt Ryan left Sunday's game against the Detroit Lions briefly with what appeared to be a left leg injury. Ryan walked off under his own power after initially looking like he was in serious pain. His ankle was stepped on by Will Svitek - one of his own offensive linemen - as he dropped back to pass in the third quarter. It was announced in the press box as...

Dunta Robinson Fine Reduced

The NFL is a complete joke when they say they care about players safety more then ever. We all ranted a couple weeks ago when Atlanta Falcons corner Dunta Robinson was fined only $40,000 for his hit on Philadelphia Eagles receiver Jeremy Maclin. The fine was less then the one he received the prior year for his hit on DeSean Jackson and showed he hasn’t learned his lesson...

Lions' Chris Houston has a back problem

Talk about adding injury to insult. Not only did Houston endure a 23-16 loss to his former team, the Atlanta Falcons, his day was ended prematurely by a swift kick in the back.
