Former Falcons defensive line coach Bill Johnson posing with some of the Saints on the Falcons logo last season's Monday Night's game in late December. FLOWERY BRANCH — In the movie Men In Black they had this little contraption that would a flash white and make you forget that you saw aliens. I think the Falcons used one of those on the players. None of them seem to remember that the Saints  defensive linemen posed with position coach Bill Johnson for a picture on the team’s logo. Or that Remi Ayodele, who’s now with Minnesota, told Pete Prisco that he urinated on the team’s logo after their 17-14 victory. A Falcons official said the team would remember the incident at the time, but it seems the players can’t seem to recall a thing. Leading up to the game, it seems that no one really remembers it or they have been “briefed” by the coaches and/or the communications staff not to discuss it. Here’s what All-Pro wide receiver Roddy White had to say, “Oh ...

FLOWERY BRANCH – If Fox puts a close up shot of Falcons tackle Will Svitek, you’ll see that he’s growing a mustache. He’s growing it for a good cause. “In 2001, my Dad was diagnosed with prostrate cancer,” Svitek said. “It was 10 years ago. He had surgery in 2001 and radiation in 2004. He’s been seven years cancer free.” Will Svitek is set to make his third straight...

Jacquizz Rodgers – A Rising Star

Whilst it may be easy to gush about Julio Jones, after his incredible week 9 performance. I want to look at our other offensive rookie that has made a big impact on our offense.Wind back 12 months and Jacquizz Rodgers’ college career was coming to a close. As the norm for most running backs now, is come out after their junior season, due to the short career span for running...

Falcons Midseason Superlatives

Corey Peters: up and coming Here are my picks for the Falcons players most deserving of these superlative awards through the first half of the 2011 season: Offensive MVP: Tony Gonzalez This was tough because in recent games, Michael Turner is probably the most valuable player on offense. When Turner runs well, the Falcons tend to win. But I thought Gonzo is deserving because he&...

Julio Jones probable; Saints banged up for big game

After practicing in full on Wednesday, Falcons receiver Julio Jones was limited on Thursday with a hamstring injury. That caused some worry among Falcons fans (not to mention fantasy owners) considering Jones’ huge performance against the Colts and his equally massive role in the Falcons offense. That worry was unnecessary. Jones was limited again on…

This rivalry has been heated for years, but now that both the Falcons and the Saints are playing good football, the rivalry has taken on a whole ‘nother degree of intensity. The Saints have been the better team, making it to the Super Bowl and winning it not...

Falcons WR Julio Jones Limited In Practice Thursday

Atlanta Falcons rookie wide receiver Julio Jones (hamstring) returned to the team's injury report on Thursday. He was limited in practice despite playing in Week 9 with the same injury. In fact, he played exceptionally with three receptions for 131 yards and two touchdowns. He also added two carries for 33 yards. Jones should still be expected to play and this minor setback should...

Falcons ready for another tough matchup vs. Brees

Facing Drew Brees is never easy for the Atlanta Falcons. New Orleans' record-setting quarterback is 8-2 in the NFC South rivalry and has put up some staggering numbers: 3,010 yards passing, a 68.1 completion percentage and 20 touchdowns. Falcons linebacker Curtis Lofton doesn't believe the Falcons can stop Brees, so their focus will be to slow him down. Sunday's home...
