D. Orlando Ledbetter of the Atlanta Journal Constitution writes that the Falcons have held internal discussions about adding defensive end free agents Dwight Freeney and Osi Umenyiora. Freeney is reportedly hoping to sign with an NFL contender and the Falcons would certainly fit into that category. Freeney’s name has been linked to a number of NFL teams in recent weeks, so it will be interesting to see the level of interest in him on the open market. Atlanta could use another pass rusher and there’s at least a chance that one of these players could come at a reduced cost. Both of them show up in our Top 50 Free Agents list.
