NFL Injury Report:
Atlanta Falcons linebacker Sean Weatherspoon will miss his second consecutive game with an ankle injury, according to D. Orland Ledbetter of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
The Falcons leading tackler sat out against Dallas last week and will be sidelined when Atlanta travels to New Orleans this weekend.
Falcons head coach Mike Smith thinks the first round pick in 2010 from Missouri will be back soon:
“We felt like Sean would be a real, real stretch these first two weeks,” Smith said. “We feel like he’s making progress. Right now, as I did last week, he won’t play in the ball game this week.”
The undefeated Falcons face a tricky test against a 3-5 Saints team in must-win mode. New Orleans is a much better team in their dome and the loss of Weatherspoon will be an obstacle for the Falcons defense.

The Falcons won a big game last week and continue to roll as the last undefeated team. When will they suffer their first loss?
I'm sitting at 84-49 heading into the weekend. I need to have a huge run to get over .750 for the season.
NY Giants @ Cincinnati - The Giants are coming off a tough home loss last week to the Steelers. I think last...
The problem with this statement is recent history shows us that having the best regular season record or homefield advantage, doesn’t mean as much as it use it.
We saw that with the 2007 Patriots and 2011 Packers, who both were considered juggernaut teams that couldn’t finish the deal in the playoffs.
The Falcons had best record in the NFC and in 2010, then were smoked at...
The Falcons have made another roster move this week. This time they have cut Lousaka Polite and have re-signed Mike Cox.
For a team that passes roughly 60% of the time, the Falcons sure have made some moves at FB this year. It started back in May when starter Ovie Mughelli became a salary cap casualty. In August, the Falcons put rookie Bradie Ewing on injured reserve and...
He's know for his famous video game, but before being a television analyst, then video game maker, he was a super bowl winning coach. John Madden understands the rigors of a season, and with eight game down, he's not convinced the undefeated Atlanta Falcons are a sure bet to win it all.“I think they have solid players,” Madden said, according to D. Orlando Ledbetter of...
Within two days of one another the Atlanta Falcons brought in Mike Nolan to run the defense and Dirk Koetter on the offensive side. I set out to write an article on the top 10 impact players new to their respective teams this season; either via trade, free agency, or the draft. The process got old, quickly, though. The truth is, there have been many… but, my telling you that...
Atlanta Falcons wide receiver loves to run off at the mouth, sometimes without an apparent thought to what he’s even saying. His twitter feed @RoddyWhiteTV is pure comedy, and most of the time White’s not trying to be funny. White has started yapping again, and the masses in the Nola are not going to be [...]

The Atlanta Falcons are starting to get questions about perfection.
The Falcons (8-0) have gotten off to the best start in franchise history, but lineman Tyson Clabo points out that they're still only halfway through the regular season, with a number of tough games still to come. That includes a trip to New Orleans on Sunday, plus a December game against the Super Bowl champion...
Last week: 1 (-2)
The Falcons are an undefeated 8-0, but they have not played a tough schedule (it doesn’t really get harder) and they’ve won 5 of their 8 games by a touchdown or less, including 4 at home. They’ve beaten everyone on their schedule and they’ve been able to eke out victories, but at the end of the day, if I’m an AFC team, I’m way more scared...
When a team like the Falcons reach the midway point and the biggest question about them is why they don’t get more respect, then you’re having a pretty good season.
It’s difficult to get off to an 8-0 start and still fly under the radar, but still, teams like Green Bay, Chicago and the 49ers get brought up as the best in the NFC before the Falcons do. Some point to their...
Much has been made of the Atlanta Falcons beating inferior opponents - often unimpressively - en route to a perfect record at the season's halfway point.
They'll get another team with a losing record Sunday, but the New Orleans Saints appear to be on the rise.
In what could be a high-scoring affair at the Superdome, the Falcons look to remain unbeaten when they face a Saints...
