Atlanta Falcons 2012 NFL Season Preview
Offense
The Falcons have made the playoffs in each of the last 2 seasons, but have not won a single playoff game. Matt Ryan, in fact, has not won a playoff game in his career, despite making the playoffs in 3 out of his 4 seasons in the NFL. For what it’s worth, I think too much is being made of Ryan’s inability to win a playoff game. Peyton Manning started 0-3 in his career...
Falcons’ Lofa Tatupu injures self lifting weights
Lofa Tatupu is a 3-time Pro-Bowler, making it in 2005, 2006, and 2007. However, his career was derailed by injuries to the point where he was completely out of football last year. Still only heading into his age 30 season, the Falcons took a chance on him this offseason as a two down run stuffer, to compliment 2011 3rd round pick Akeem Dent.
However, it appears those plans have been...
Over/Under: Will Michael Turner Rush for 1,000 Yards in 2012?
Earlier this week we took a look at John Abraham in our first installment of over/under. Now it's time to turn our attention to Michael Turner. The Falcons have talked openly about limiting the carries of Turner this season. In his four seasons with the Falcons, Turner has eclipsed 1,300 yards every year except the year that he only played in eleven games. Will Michael Turner...

Camp Battles 2012: Special Teams
The Falcons will have arguably the most amount of competition for roles on special teams in seemingly a long while this summer. The team is two-deep at all three specialist spots, and both return spots are completely open to competition.
It is likely that the incumbents at all three specialist spots will retain their jobs with Matt Bryant at kicker, Matt Bosher at punter, and...

Eric Wynalda builds coaching cred in Atlanta
By JAMES CARR@jamescarr89
DORAVILLE, Ga. -- As Eric Wynalda sprints around the pitch at the Atlanta Silverbacks' facility, yelling instructions, calling offside and scribbling notes on his yellow notepad, he finally takes a break to sit in the stands.
He notes that it's the little things he has to fix with his struggling North American Soccer League side.

Five Storylines Entering Falcons Camp
Curiously, a report in the Philadelphia Inquirer on Friday indicated that former Eagles coach Andy Reid felt that Samuel was “in steep decline” – the reporter’s words, not Reid’s – and that Samuel no longer suited the scheme. (Samuel responded via Twitter by saying, “I just finished reading the story on coach Andy Reid...
Eagles Coach Andy Reid Thought CB Asante Samuel Was In Deep Decline
Back in April the Atlanta Falcons traded a seventh-round draft pick to the Eagles for cornerback Asante Samuel. Samuel became expendable when the Eagles signed Nnamdi Asomugha and acquired Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie last summer, giving them three Pro Bowl cornerbacks. But the team couldn't find a suitable deal for Samuel, so they kept him last year and used Rodgers-Cromartie...
