FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. Kroy Biermann has shown in his five seasons with the Atlanta Falcons that he is one of the most versatile players on the roster. Last year, he played everything from special teams to left defensive end to a type of rover in defensive coordinator Mike Nolans scheme that had him covering the deep pass down the middle of the field. (This is not to mention his off-the-field versatility in which he appears on a reality television show with his wife, Kim Zolciak.)
As the Falcons continue to become more varied in Nolans second season from a 4-3 base defense that includes even more 3-4 looks, its possible that Biermann could continue to morph into a linebacker.
Biermann was drafted at 240 pounds out of Montana and has bulked up to 260, but this year the Falcons drafted two more natural NFL defensive-end types who weigh about 265 pounds each. With two holdovers from last year also at left defensive end, that sets up quite a competition a competition that would allow ...

Last year, Atlanta tight end, and future 1st ballot hall
of famer Tony Gonzalez announced that he would retire at the end of

preseason expectations and be a Super Bowl contender. Unfortunately,
Atlanta lost to the 49ers in the NFC Championship and Gonzalez didn’t

FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. It happens with every NFL franchise, and it happened with the New York Giants and Osi Umenyiora.
The NFLs hard salary cap and the fleeting nature of careers mean that teams are constantly drafting and developing talent to replace their higher-priced veterans even if those veterans are Pro-Bowlers who have helped your team to win the Super Bowl multiple times...
At the age of thirty-five, John Abraham is still out there on the market and almost everyone thinks he still has some gas in the tank so why hasn’t he been signed?
Jeff Legwold of the Denver Post wrote an article explaining how Abraham has shocked every team he has visited demanding that he play at least 60% of snaps on defense. Obviously every team (including the Patriots)...
Atlanta Falcons defensive coordinator Mike Nolan is still trying to gauge what his team will look like this season.
That's not easy to do during offseason training activities with some players unable to participate and others inexperienced.
But entering his 27th season as a coach in the NFL and 15th as a coordinator, Nolan says that it's far too early to be concerned.
Camp will likely open Saturday July 27th. The schedule for when fans can attend is usually updated...
Former Kansas City Chiefs FB, Patrick DiMarco, has been signed by the Atlanta Falcons. DiMarco was cut loose by the Chiefs in early May after they drafted FB Braden Wilson and acquired FB Anthony Sherman from the Cardinals. Patrick started off 2012 on the practice squad and was called up mid-season and started 4 games. He will serve immediately as camp depth but has a shot at making...
