ATLANTA It was an exercise in futility to watch the Atlanta Falcons try and run the ball after Steven Jackson left the game with a thigh injury following the first series. It was as if offensive coordinator Dirk Koetter, sitting in the press box, fell victim to some malignant thievery, someone having stolen the pages of his playbook with the running plays. It was no way to preserve a 21-point halftime lead against the St. Louis Rams. That's for sure. And so the Rams roared back and made a game of it but, fortunately for the Falcons, Atlanta had the arm of Matt Ryan to fall back on and wide receiver Julio Jones, who had perhaps the best outing of a brilliant young career: 11 receptions for 182 yards and a touchdown. With the benefit of a late touchdown, the Falcons prevailed 31-24 Sunday at the Georgia Dome. The Falcons, who advanced to the NFC title game last season and carry the burden of heavy expectations, evened their record at 1-1. On a day when they needed Ryan to e...

Thigh injury ends Jackson's day early

Steven Jackson’s first-quarter touchdown got Atlanta off to a good start but that’s where his day ended. Injured Falcons: Steven Jackson Out 2-4 Weeks, Spoon Out Months

If you missed recent reports, every Falcon is injured and won't play for weeks or even months, if at all this season.  The season is far from over!  Seems that some fans believe we will be fighting with the Jaguars for the first overall pick this year but Atlanta has some very nice talent that should step up.  It has gotten pretty confusing to remember who is out for the year...

NFL Week 2 Picks & Predictions

Rams at Falcons, 1:00PM ET The Falcons aren’t firing on all cylinders offensively. Roddy White was relegated to decoy duties last Sunday against the Saints due to a high-ankle injury, and the offensive line is young, vulnerable, and inexperienced. New Orleans pressured Matt Ryan relentlessly last week and the strength of St. Louis’ defense is its front four. Thus, Falcons OC...
