Falcons QB Matt Ryan Wins NFC Offensive Player Of The Month Award -
For many people, nothing Matt Ryan does in September will ever matter. But it was still a really good September. The Falcons quarterback was named NFC offensive player of the month for September, for leading his team to a 4-0 record. Ryan was fairly phenomenal, with a plus-100.0 passer rating in each game. He’s thrown 11 touchdowns and only two interceptions, and just finished it off with a game-winning drive against the Panthers which he started at his 1-yard line with no timeouts. It’s his second such award, after winning in November 2010. But until he wins a playoff game, that’s not going to be much consolation.

Matt Ryan keeps shrugging off any suggestion that he's trying to make up for his playoff failures.
Whatever the case, the Atlanta Falcons quarterback has taken his game to a new level.
A quarter of the way into the season, Ryan is the NFL's top-rated passer and a big reason the Falcons (4-0) have matched the best start in franchise history.
True to his nature, Ryan dismisses...
It might seem a little early to start talking about possible MVP's after only four games, but it is still fun to speculate. After the first four games of the season, Matt Ryan has led the Falcons to its first 4-0 start since the 1980's. He is also the league leader in quarterback rating at an astounding 112.1. He is second in the league with 11 touchdowns, trailing only...
Week five in the NFL has a lot of interesting match-ups along with a couple of games where betting on the underdog may pay off well. Online poker room and betting site WilliamHill has released lines on this weekend’s games and the following are two of the best games to place underdog bets on.

The biggest key for the Falcons this week will not be getting off to the slow start they did a week ago. They want to take advantage of their passing attack going against the weak Redskin secondary. The health of Julio Jones (hand) will be a factor in this game. The team will need him to have a bigger game. He will have that opportunity going up against DeAngelo Hall and Josh Wilson...
HOAGIES AND GRINDERS
Atlanta Falcons wide receiver can be a pretty nice guy. There are various member of the NFL such as his new nemesis Victor Cruz that would disagree with that statement.
But when he’s not offering his sometimes controversial opinions, White spends a nice bit of his time doing charitable acts.

The 4-0 Atlanta Falcons face the upstart Washington Redskins and their rookie phenom, Robert Griffith III this weekend. When the game ends the Falcons could find themselves 4-1.Last season the Atlanta Falcons grinded out many of their games en route to the playoffs, which included a few comebacks. The win over Cam Newton and the Carolina Panthers proved the Dirty Birds are still...
Through the first two weeks of the season, I was astounded by the amount of nickel defense the Falcons played. Their base defense which featured all three linebackers was only used on about a dozen plays out of about 150 combined plays. While it seemed to be paying dividends with their successful pass defense, it seemed detrimental against the run. Through two weeks the Falcons pass...

Well, it wasn’t pretty, but the Falcons got their 4th win to become the NFL’s 3rd 4-0 team this season. Arizona is think is a complete fluke, but both Houston and Atlanta are for real and it wouldn’t surprise me at all to see these two teams in the Super Bowl. Houston has the edge right now because none of their games have been really close. Plus...
Atlanta Falcons QB Matt Ryan is delivering on his potential this season.
I’m still reeling from the amazing finish to the Falcons/Panthers game on Sunday. With mere seconds left and all the way at their own 2 yard line, the Falcons, or shall I say Matt Ryan and Roddy White with a little help from Matt Bryant’s leg, pulled off the kind of thing that makes last year’s non...
(Eds: With AP Photos.) By PAUL NEWBERRY AP Sports Writer Roddy White could've pouted, could've complained, could've stirred things up in the locker room.
He did none of that.
White knew he was still the go-to receiver for the Atlanta Falcons, no matter who lined up on the other side.
''Roddy knows he's a very good player,'' said Falcons quarterback...
The Redskins will host the Falcons at 1:00 PM on Sunday and look to hand Atlanta their first loss on the season. Redskins Nation knows that the key match-up of this game is going to be Matt Ryan and the explosive Falcon offense vs. the Redskins defense, and in particular the secondary.
There is little doubt that Atlanta is going to put points on the board so more than likely,...
There was a report that the hand of Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Julio Jones affected his play last week against the Panthers.
Jones told AtlantaFalcons.com that there’s nothing holding him back and his hand is just fine after suffering a laceration during their week 3 win over the Chargers.
“Oh, yeah. I’m fine,” Jones said. “I’m ready to go.”

Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Julio Jones has been hamperedby a hand injury over the past few weeks, but he is listed as probable for
