Alex Marvez of Fox Sports reports that the Atlanta Falcons have re-signed OC Dirk Koetter to a two-year contract extension.
Koetter had already drawn interest from a number of NFL team’s in search of a new head coach. The Chiefs reportedly brought him in for an interview on Tuesday and the Browns and Eagles also showed interest in him.
Koetter is in a great situation as far as being an offensive coordinator goes. Matt Ryan, Julio Jones and Roddy White are quite the combination and the Falcons have become a perennial playoff team in recent years. He’ll have other opportunities to become a head coach if that’s something he wants to take on a later point in his career.
