That motto can also apply to week to week life in the NFL regular season. The Atlanta Falcons survived a comeback by the Seattle Seahawks to win 30-28 and advanced to a 2-2 record. However, if one can find “moral victories” in defeat, than presumably one could also find “moral defeats” in a victory. The Falcons had many moral defeats on Sunday. Seattle is a bad team, plain and simple. Even though this game was nearly 2,700 miles away from home, this game should not have been so close. The Falcons were up 27-7 with 13:30 left in the 3rd Quarter, yet they allowed the Seahawks to make a game of it and have one last drive to win it in the end. A championship caliber team does not allow this game against this low-quality of an opponent to be competitive late in the 4th Quarter.
