The Falcons face on paper arguably their weakest opponent of the season this week. Standing at lowly 2-8 the Vikings have struggled to compete in a fierce NFC North. The first concern for the Falcons Defense need to contend with is the Vikings offensive coordinator, Bill Musgrave formerly the Falcons QB Coach. This familiarity with each other could go either way but I expect some new wrinkles from Musgrave when attacking our defense. The bread and butter of this Vikings attack is the run game featuring All Pro RB Adrian Peterson. The Falcons may catch a big break as Adrian Peterson could miss the game with a high ankle sprain. Missing Peterson would be a devastating blow to the Vikings’ chances and would be forced to turn to backup RB Tony Gerhart for the lion share of the carries. … [visit site to read more]Falcons vs Vikings – Scouting The Minnesota Vikings - Blogging Dirty - Blogging Dirty - An Atlanta Falcons Fan Site - News, Blogs, Opinion and more.

Falcons defense looking to slow Peterson

FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. When the Falcons host 2-8 Minnesota on Sunday gunning for their fifth win in six games, the match-up will present a case of strength versus strength, weakness versus weakness that is, if Vikings running back Adrian Peterson can play. After their impressive effort last week against a former NFL rushing champion they held Tennessee's Chris Johnson to 13...

Adrian Peterson could miss more then just week 12

When Adrian Peterson was first diagnosed with a grade 1 ankle sprain the Vikings said he would only miss a week, but now Vikings head coach Leslie Frazier is saying they might hold Peterson out for 2 or 3 weeks to let his ankle heal. Since the team isn’t in the playoff hunt this is the smart move.  No use further injuring your best player in games that don’t matter.  The Vikings...

Peterson status in question with high ankle sprain

Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson has a high ankle sprain that will put him in a walking boot, leaving his availability for Sunday's game at Atlanta question. Coach Leslie Frazier said Monday that Peterson has a Grade 1 sprain, the least severe of the three categories. But Peterson will wear the boot for a few days and won't try to practice until Friday to determine...

Adrian Peterson could play vs. Falcons

FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. Minnesota Vikings head coach Leslie Frazier did not rule out on Wednesday that running back Adrian Peterson could potentially play on Sunday against the Falcons at the Georgia Dome. Peterson, who suffered a high ankle sprain to his left ankle last Sunday against Oakland, is wearing a protective boot. Frazier said Peterson would have the boot removed on Friday...

Adrian Peterson Injury Update: High Ankle Sprain, Status For Week 12 In Doubt

One of the big stories coming out of Sunday’s games, in addition to Jay Cutler’s injury, was the injury to Adrian Peterson that forced the league’s best running back to miss most of Minnesota’s loss to Oakland (which surely induced many more crocodile tears). Fortunately, it sounds like Peterson avoided any serious damage to one of the appendages that helps him run all day...

Vikings running back Adrian Peterson has a high ankle sprain and is in a boot, but the Vikings aren’t ruling him out just yet for Sunday’s game.

Week 12 Streaming Piles Of D

Atlanta vs. MIN Things couldn’t get much worse for Minnesota after they are in jeopardy of playing without their only consistent offensive weapon, Adrian Peterson. Even if Peterson gets in the game, Atlanta has evolved into one of the better run defenses in the league. It will be tough going for Ponder against Grimes and the Falcons’ secondary as they’ve snagged 11 interceptions...

Studs and Duds From Week 11

The Raiders slogged through the second half again and it nearly came back to bite them. A better team may have been able to capitalize on the Raiders penalties, but the Vikings without Adrian Peterson were powerless to do so. The defense looked suspect again and the Raiders offensive line struggled more than they have [...]

Adrian Peterson still in walking boot for Vikings

Minnesota Vikings coach Leslie Frazier says star running back Adrian Peterson will not play Sunday against Atlanta if he cannot practice by Friday.

Vikings-Falcons Preview

The Atlanta Falcons had a somewhat sloppy performance last week, but still managed to win. The players know they can't make the same mistakes and still prevail, although they might be able to get away with it against the lowly Minnesota Vikings. Especially if they're without Adrian Peterson. The Falcons hope to erase some of last week's miscues Sunday when they host...
