Fantasy ballers: Three tight ends poised to crush Week 9 projections

Having trouble finding fantasy points from the tight end spot? These three are primed for a big Week 9.

Hunter Henry (TE), New England Patriots

Henry is available in almost 70% of Yahoo leagues, which is surprising given the state of pass-catchers in New England these days. Kendrick Bourne, the team’s leading receiver, is out for the year with an ACL injury. DeVante Parker remains in the concussion protocol, and JuJu Smith-Schuster has 15 catches for 89 yards all season.

Henry is actually New England’s second-leading receiver, and with little competition on the roster, he should do well against a Washington team giving up 12.46 fantasy points per game to tight ends, well above Henry’s 7.48 projection.

Taysom Hill (TE), New Orleans Saints

According to John Hendrix of SI.com, Hill was limited with a hip injury in Wednesday’s practice. The 33-year-old tight end fought through a chest injury last week and finished with 22.46 fantasy points thanks to 63 yards rushing and two scores.

If he’s healthy, Hill is a strong play against a struggling Bears team allowing 13.25 fantasy points to tight ends and a safe bet to beat his 2.83 point projection.

Dalton Kincaid (TE), Buffalo Bills

Kincaid caught five of seven targets for 65 yards and a 22-yard touchdown against Tampa Bay last Thursday and is starting to show why Buffalo made him the 25th pick overall in the 2023 NFL Draft.

The rookie tight end caught eight passes for 75 yards in Week 7, giving him two straight weeks with double-digit fantasy points. His 17.5 fantasy points against the Bucs were eighth-most among tight ends, but he could be in for an even bigger day against a Cincinnati Bengals team giving up an average of 15.71 to tight ends, the highest number in the league.

With teammate Dawson Knox on injured reserve following wrist surgery, Kincaid could finish with the best numbers of any tight end in Week 9.
