TEAMS: Chicago Bears
Now it's time for the least important portion of the Chicago Bears 101 Fantasy Football preview. Sure, for your favorite team, the kicker can be the most celebrated or the most hated person at the end of a game based on whether or not he hits the field goal. However, in fantasy football, there is no reason to be taking a kicker before the FINAL round. In fact, don't bother taking your defense any earlier than the round before that. Don't believe us? Let the numbers from last season do the talking. We'll start with the kickers. First, take David Akers out of the equation as he was a freak last season with his 192 points. Guys 2-10 ranged from 156 points to 139. That's 17 points, also known as one point per week. Taking a kicker before the last round for the possibility of gaining an extra point per week is flat out stupid. That's why it's still unbelievable that some kickers are going in the 11th round. You may say, 'it's the 11th round, wh...

New York Giants Vs. Chicago Bears: What to Watch For

It's the most highly anticipated preseason game – game number three, when the first team often plays well into the third quarter. In other words, Friday night will be the dress rehearsal for the New York Giants going into their week one showdown with division rival Dallas. The Giants have looked solid this preseason, but Head Coach Tom Coughlin would like to see less mistakes...

Bears waive Kahlil Bell

The Chicago Bears have waived backup running back Kahlil Bell. Bell played 20 games for the Bears the last three seasons and made three starts, including the final two last season after Matt Forte sprained his knee. Bell would have been Chicago's third-string back behind Forte and Michael Bush. Bell ran for 557 yards on 119 attempts and also caught 20 passes for 137 yards and...

Forte and Bush Struggle Against Giants

Chicago running back Matt Forte rushed 10 times for 39 yards while Michael Bush ran the ball just once in the Bears 20-17 preseason win over the Giants.Fantasy Spin:Forte averaged 123.9 ypg from scrimmage last season before a knee injury in Week 12. He'll be sharing some of his workload with the newly acquired Bush, but from what we've seen in preseason it may only hurt Forte...

Mike Tice Wants Two 1,000-Yard RBs in Chicago

When free agent running back Michael Bush first met with Bears offensive coordinator Mike Tice, Bush says Tice told him he "wanted two 1,000-yard running backs," according to a story in the Chicago Sun-Times.Fantasy Spin:If true, that sort of focus on the running game would certainly would put a limit on Jay Cutler, Brandon Marshall and the Bears' passing game and their...

Bears part ways with RB Bell

The Chicago Bears released veteran running back Kahlil Bell Thursday evening, after Bell refused to take a pay cut. The Bears reportedly wanted Bell to reduce his salary from $1.2 million to between $500-$700,000. Entrenched in a battle for the third-string RB job with Armando Allen, Bell had an uneven training camp performance, and his penchant for fumbles surely impacted [...]

Montreal’s Kyries Hebert destroyed Hamilton’s Onrea Jones with this devastating block

Sure it doesn’t have the glitz, glamor or popularity of the NFL, but the CFL does feature some pretty good players capable of pulling off some pretty terrific plays, as evidenced by this mammoth, decleater of a block delivered by Alouettes safety Kyries Hebert on Tiger-Cats receiver Onrea Jones following a Henry Burris pick. Jones’ focus is squarely on the Als’ Jerald Brown...
