PPR Fantasy Football:
Danny Amendola’s injury has opened the door for somebody to take on extra looks for the St. Louis Rams. Amendola has more than twice as many yards with 395 as the next closest guy.
That guy is Brandon Gibson and he is second on the Rams with 186 receiving yards through five games. The only other receiver with 100+ yards is Chris Givens, and he has 112 on just four catches. Clearly he’s not a big part of the attack.
Amendola was head and shoulders ahead of the pack with 49 targets. Gibson is the closest with 23. Steve Smith, who has been a healthy scratch the past two games, could see an uptick in action, but Gibson is the only one to even consider for fantasy lineups.
He started off fine, topping 50 yards and scoring a touchdown in each of the first two games. Since then he has just seven catches for 80 yards in three games. Obviously without Amendola those numbers should go up.
The Rams’ opponents over those past three games were Chicago, Seattle, and Arizona. They are much more formidable foes than Detroit and Washington when Gibson had his most productive games.
His next three match-ups are against Miami, Green Bay, and New England. I don’t think he’s going to make anybody think that the Greatest Show on Turf is back, but he could be a fairly productive option for the next few weeks.
If you have a roster spot that is expendable, it may not be a bad idea to give Gibson a look.

The St. Louis Rams said last week they would void running back Steven Jackson's final year of his contract. The move was definitely surprising, after all, how many teams actually void contracts of star players? But it was shrewd, and makes perfect sense for the Rams and for Jackson.Jackson is in his ninth season with the Rams. He's already the franchises leading rusher, ahead...
Before the season started, I had this Rams team pegged for a 5-11 season. Mild improvement, based on a stronger showing at home (check), but nothing earth-shattering. I figured it would be too soon for all the offensive pieces to come together, especially given a threadbare offensive line, and was ready for a "wait 'til next year" approach to the season. Well, here...
LOTD Recap We nailed our first CLNS Radio Lock of the Day with the St. Louis Rams (+2.5) on Thursday Night Football. While the Rams weren’t exactly dominant, Sam Bradford hit a couple huge plays, and Kevin Kolb reverted back to what he’s been most of his career. I hope you cashed in on our [...]
Maybe Cortland Finnegan is becoming the hated player we hate to love? The St. Louis Rams cornerback has earned to top spot on Brand Affinity Technologies' (BAT) monthly ranking of 'Rising Sports Stars'. The monthly ranking list examines the players who have had the most significant leap in popularity during the previous month, and hopefully acts as a tool that marketers...
This is one of the rare times that I can brag a little. Last week’s preview was dead on. Fans of the greatest show on turf may not have rejoiced, but, for now, this is the blueprint for success. Before we get into the review, I have a few comments.
First, when I went back and watched the game recording, I was more than a little surprised how well the offensive tackles...
ST. LOUIS (AP) With prolific wide receiver Danny Amendola sidelined by a collarbone injury, the St. Louis Rams will probably need a group effort to make up the volume for the next several weeks.
They're doing their best to put a positive face on the situation. Amendola is among the NFL leaders with 32 receptions, and has nearly 40 percent of the Rams' catches on the year...
On Thursday night Danny Amendola suffered a dislocated clavicle which forced him from the game between the St. Louis Rams and Arizona Cardinals. Amendola’s clavicle popped in and could have threatened his trachea and/or aorta.
According to Fox’s Jay Glazer, Amendola was sedated and the clavicle was popped back into place. Glazer reports that the Rams attempted to find another...
The St. Louis Rams suffered a huge loss when Danny Amendola suffered a seperated SC joint in the Rams 17-3 victory over the Arizona Cardinals at home on Thursday night at the Edward Jones Dome.
Amendola has easily been quarterback Sam Bradford's most reliable wide receiver. Amendola has 32 receptions for 395 yards and two touchdowns in five games this season.
While the Rams...
Danny Amendola, whose clavicle popped IN and came dangerously close to ending his life, might actually be back this season, but it will likely be at least a month before his return and that’s incredibly damaging to Sam Bradford’s value. With The Panthers, Bears, Jaguars and Saints all on bye in week 6, fantasy owners will definitely be looking for plug in value, but with Bradford’s...
