Start ‘em & Sit ‘em Week 9 Fantasy Football – Seattle Seahawks Week 9 Predictions Ahhhh, finally back home the Seahawks are. Back at Qwest field where they look like Super Bowl contenders! This week, the Hawks face a struggling Minnesota offense and a defense that will be without one of their top corners – Chris Cook. Have the Seahawks arrived on the Fantasy landscape – me thinks a few have! So which Seahawks are worthy of a start for your Fantasy squad this week – let’s take a look. Seahawks Fantasy Forecast for Week 9: QB Russell Wilson 30 yards rushing, 220 yards passing, 1 TD Russell Wilson is coming off one brutal outing against San Francisco. He has now passed for at least two TDS in two of his last three games, and he seems to be getting more comfortable with each start. The Vikings pass defense is OK but they just lost one of their best cover guys, Chris Cook to a broken arm. Wilson should post above average numbers, and although I project just one TD, a second would not be a shock. With Wilson finding some confidence, his receivers doing a better job of acclimating themselves to his game and the fact that he’s playing at home, you could do worse in Fantasy that Mr. Wilson. If absolutely stuck this week, take a look at Wilson who may get you some rushing yards as well. RB Marshawn Lynch 100 yards rushing, 1 TD, 4 catches, 20 yards Lynch should be a solid starter for Week 9 fantasy. Marshawn Lynch has gone over 100 yards two straight weeks against tough defenses on the road. Now he faces a Minnesota defense that has given up 239 yards and two scores the last two weeks – all on home turf. Lynch is money at the best of times, and at home he is just that much better. Loom for him to keep his 100 yard streak intact and find the end zone this week as well. Start him if you got him! WR Sidney Rice 5 catches 80, 1 TD Sidney Rice has certainly looked more comfortable with Russell Wilson the past few weeks. Against his former team, look for Rice to have one of his better games of the season. He is definitely WR3/4 material this week and is definitely worth a look as a flex Fantasy starter. WR Golden Tate 5 catches, 70 yards With the Seahawks receiving corp banged up, Golden Tate should receive even more targets than usual. He and Rice will likely split the looks abandoned by Ben Obomanu, Doug Baldwin and Braylon Edwards. I like Tate to have a solid day but I think he is too risky for Fantasy purposes. TE Zach Miller 4 catches, 40 yards Had a TD grab last week, but is still not utilized enough for my liking. With the receiver injuries, he could see some more looks but until I see it, I won’t trust him just yet. However, the Vikes are weak against tight ends, so if you are in dire need of one he’s worth a small look. PK Steven Hauschka 2 FG 2 XP D/ST 325 yards, 3 sacks, 2 INT., 1 FF It’s not like you would bench the Seahawks defense at home anyway but consider that Christian Ponder has thrown seven interceptions in his last four games and the team has its share of fumbles over that span as well. Seattle is a rock solid start this week against a team that made the Tampa Bay defense look very good last week! CLICK HERE TO CHECK OUT THE SEAHAWKS PAGE IN OUR CLUBHOUSE SECTION!
