TEAMS: San Diego Chargers, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, New York Jets, Denver Broncos
The San Diego Chargers season appears to be slipping away once again and perhaps the door could be closing on the future of head coach Norv Turner. The San Diego Chargers head to Denver this week to take on the Broncos and could be without RB Ryan Mathews. Mathews has missed the last two practices with a neck injury and Turner has declined to rule him out as of yet.Mathews suffered the injury against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers last Sunday after receiving a hit from LB Quincy Black. The hit landed Black on the injured reserve list for the Buccaneers, ending his season.
In fantasy circles, Ryan Mathews has been one of the more maddening players in recent years. He had a disappointing rookie season as he was billed to be the next LaDainian Tomlinson but has failed miserable to live up to that billing. Heading into this season, Norv Turner couldn’t stop talking about how he expected Mathews to have a breakout season. He was billed as being a back that would receive at least 320 touches th...

Chargers Juggle WR’s: Floyd Becomes the Z
Re-Charging Wideouts
When the San Diego Chargers lost Vincent Jackson to the Buccaneers in free agency, the team quickly responded with the signing of Robert Meachem. With a history of losing high quality talent to opposing teams, the Chargers knee-jerk reaction of acquiring the former Saints WR got a pity laugh from me back in the off-season.
Fast forward to week 11, Robert Meachem has...
San Diego Chargers looking for answers
At 7th in the AFC, you would think the Chargers would be in the thick of the playoff race, but that's not the case. They're currently tied two other teams for the 7th position, and they're a full two games behind the Pittsburgh Steelers for the last playoff spot.

San Diego Chargers at Denver Broncos: Week 11 NFL Pick
San Diego Chargers (4-5) at Denver Broncos (6-3)
In my Power Rankings this week I joked, “Why does it feel like the Chargers are going to lose to Denver, fall to 4-6, and then go on their annual late season run, finish 8-8 or 9-7, miss the playoffs barely, and save Norv Turner’s and AJ Smith’s jobs? Oh, that’s right, that happens every year.” Well, I’m not so sure that...
