The Tampa Bay Buccaneers returned home to the Bay area with their collective tails between their legs after suffering a humiliating defeat at the hands of the New York Jets. Unable to hold a lead with 34 seconds remaining, penalties which plagued the game, played a significant role in the outcome and eventual loss.
The Buccaneers got some intriguing news on Monday, as the team announced that former University of Florida running back and track star, Jeff Demps, will be joining the team, as early as this week.
Demps was acquired by the Buccaneers as a part of the trade with the New England Patriots which sent RB LeGarrette Blount north in exchange for a seventh round draft pick and the rights to Demps.
The Patriots were not interested in allowing the speedy Demps to explore his track career while being a member of the team, but the Buccaneers obviously were. Demps was on the Patriots IR list last season after inking a three-year deal.
