Matt Forte, RB, Chicago Bears
FANTASY FOOTBALL ANALYSIS
I can’t lie, I have a soft spot for Matt Forte. Even though I’m a Lions fan and I should hate the guy, I just love to watch him on the field. At times it looks like he is barely even trying, it just comes so natural to him.
With that said, he’s become an injury risk for fantasy owners. After playing in all 16 games his first three seasons, he’s now missed significant time in 2011 and one game in 2012. Even though he only managed to miss one last season, there were plenty of games with the questionable tag.
We need to read up on Chicago’s new coach Marc Trestman, but what we do know is that he has a reputation of being a fine quarterbacks coach. If he can help Jay Cutler progress in 2013, that can only help Matt Forte gain yards with honest defenses. I like Forte’s chances of having a great year but once again the price has to be right. I think he falls to the middle of the second round to early third. If that is the case, the risk is definitely worth the possible reward.
