Matt Ryan, QB, Atlanta Falcons
School: Boston College
FANTASY FOOTBALL ANALYSIS
Matt Ryan enjoyed the best year of his career in 2012 having passed for 4,719 yards and 32 touchdowns. The Atlanta Falcon scored as the seventh best fantasy quarterback and was the last of the good ones as there was a drastic fall off in fantasy output with the remainder of the class.
Being blessed with two of the best young wide receivers in the game and one of the best tight ends, Ryan is filthy rich in surrounding talent. That should remain the same in 2013 as long as Tony Gonzalez does not decide to retire which is a big possibility.
One key thing going for Ryan is that he enters his contract year. While it is not a scientific fact, it definitely seems as if players perform at a higher level during contract years compared to non-contract years. Adding in the fact that the running game for Atlanta is mediocre at best, there is a great chance ...

The Atlanta Falcons don’t expect to use their franchise tag
this offseason, according to NFL.com’s Ian Rapoport, and free agent safety
William Moore appeared poised to receive the tender.
#Falcons are one of the teams NOT expected to franchise anyone, I'm told. Not even S William Moore, tho he's a priority re-sign

It should not come as a surprise to anyone following the National Football League, but according to a report issued by ESPN.com’s Adam Schefter, citing league sources, the Atlanta Falcons intend to release starting running back Michael Turner after five seasons with the team.
Turner is scheduled to make $6.9 million in 2013, which is simply too much to pay for a running back that...
In a move that most educated NFL football fans already saw coming, reports surfaced out of the NFL Combine that the Atlanta Falcons will likely release RB Michael Turner. For some reason, Twitter exploded after these reports surfaced, but I have to question exactly why? Have any of these people making comments on Twitter seen Turner play recently? ESPN’s Adam Schefter made the...
ESPN's Adam Schefter expects the Falcons to release veteran running back Michael Turner this offseason.Fantasy Spin:Fantasy owners may not have noticed because Turner was still scoring a ton of touchdowns but 2012 was arguably Turner's worst season as a Falcon. His 3.6 yards per carry was a career-low and his 800 yards on the ground were his fewest since 2007. Jacquizz Rodgers...
Fantasy Football News - According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Atlanta Falcons will release veteran running back Michael Turner. The Burner was due 6.9 million dollars this upcoming season, and with his play regressing rapidly over the past couple of seasons, this doesn’t come as a shock.

Dwight Freeney will have his list of suitors, and Roddy White and the Atlanta Falcons seem to be one of them. White and his Falcons teammates seem to think they are a playmaker away from the Super Bowl on defense, and White took to twitter today to try to court Freeney.
I would love to see Dwight Freeney in a falcon uniform next year I hope that’s not tampering

Brent Grimes suffered an Achilles injury in the first game of the season, which cost him the entire year. He's coming off a one year deal for about $10 million, and his future is uncertain.

The one time San Diego Charger split time this season in the back field with Jacquizz Rodgers. It’s a foregone conclusion that at some point in the next six or seventh months the Falcons will sign a long-term extension with quarterback Matt Ryan that makes him one of the highest paid signal callers in the NFL.
If the Falcons can get a deal done with Ryan prior to the start of free agency on March 12, it could free up much needed cap space. Ryan is set to count $12 million...
