Mike Goodson, RB, New York Jets Player Profile Height/Weight: 6-0/212 Birthdate: 5/23/1987 School: Texas A&M FANTASY FOOTBALL ANALYSIS Goodson finally gets a shot to be the guy for the Jets. He’s going to battle to be the top dog with third-year back Bilal Powell in training camp, and if he can stay healthy, I believe he has the better skill set to be the dynamic player Shonn Greene never was. He’s extremely quick but has a tendency to east and west instead of north and south. He wants to get outside the pocket instead of hitting the hole hard. If he does get past the first line, that’s when he becomes an extremely dangerous threat. With only 35 attempts in Oakland last season he managed to break off two 43 yard runs and average 6.3 YPC. He is also dangerous out of the backfield catching passes. Last season he only caught 16 passes but one went for 64 and another for 37. He has the speed to make a fantasy impact and could possibly be a huge fantasy sleeper heading into 2013 draf...

Report: Jets in no rush to trade Revis

According to Rich Cimini of ESPNNewYork.com, general manager John Idzik and the Jets aren’t in any rush to trade cornerback Darrelle Revis. The word I’m getting from the NFL meetings in Phoenix is that Jets GM John Idzik is in no rush to make a trade and that he’s willing to let it play out until after the draft. Why wait? The Jets are on a long-term rebuilding plan, and Idzik...

To Trade Revis Or Not To Trade Revis? That Is The New York Jets' Question

To Trade Revis Or Not To Trade Revis? That Is The New York Jets' Question I hope you're sitting down for this, but Darrelle Revis is still in the news. Rex Ryan spoke to the New York Post today and was quoted as saying, “I know for a fact that we’re not actively trying to trade Darrelle Revis." I love that he went with the full-name to show how serious he is...

Rex Ryan Says He Regrets Super Bowl Guarantee, Would Pick That Prediction As His ‘Do-Over’

Rex Ryan says he regrets the time he guaranteed that the Jets would win the Super Bowl. Just one question: Which time was that, Rex? Ryan has predicted that his New York Jets would make it to the Super Bowl about as many years as he’s coached the team, with the most recent guarantee coming in 2011. The Jets, meanwhile, have only regressed since Ryan’s first two seasons, when...

Jets’ owner Woody Johnson still won’t rule out a Darrelle Revis trade

According to Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News, Jets’ owner Woody Johnson was asked if he can build his team around cornerback Darrelle Revis. “No,” said Johnson. “I think you need to look at the entire 53 (man roster). To build a team, if you don’t look at the whole 53, you’re not going to make it. It starts with the quarterback. You got to get your quarterback...

Rex Ryan Says Mark Sanchez Will Take the “First Snap” For Jets

If anyone is curious, it appears that Mark Sanchez will be with the Jets for the 2013.  In fact, he is not only going to be on the team, is in the lead to be the team’s starting quarterback. According to the NY Daily News, Jets head coach Rex Ryan said that Sanchez will take “the first snap” when training camp rolls around in the summer.  He did not say that Sanchez would...

Rex Ryan Says The Jets Are Not Actively Trying To Trade Darrelle Revis

The Darrelle Revis trade rumors have slowed a bit amid rumors that the Jets are playing hard ball with likely suitors. Amid all the games and speculation, is the fact that the Jets are indeed looking to move Revis. Head coach Rex Ryan spoke to the media yesterday, and with his best poker face on, told all the media that the Jets are not actively trying to trade Darrelle Revis according...

Bucs players can’t talk with Darrelle Revis

The Buccaneers appear to be inching closer to a deal with the New York Jets for cornerback Darrelle Revis. Some reports already have the Bucs penciled in as having a deal in place to offer Revis which seems logical. Many have even suggested that Revis is aware of this said deal. However, with the league’s anti-tampering rules, it can not be the Bucs front office that reaches out...

New York Jets Quietly Making Some Nice Free Agent Signings

(Editors Note: Sorry for the lack of posting recently, I was away on vacation. Expect a regular dose of content going forward.) My New York Jets have become the butt of many jokes recently, and rightfully so.  Things got so bad this season that Fireman Ed, their unofficial cheerleader, stepped down. The season culminated with the the firing of General Manager Mike Tannebaum, the...

Ryan discusses Revis Rumors

Rex Ryan insists the Jets are not actively shopping All-Pro cornerback Darrelle Revis.

Jeffrey Lurie: Philadelphia will push for Super Bowl if New York goes well

The Super Bowl has traditionally been held in a city with warm weather, or at least been played in a dome when it’s been in a cold city. But that’s about to change next year when the Super Bowl will be played at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey — an outdoor stadium which serves as the home field for the New York Jets and Giants. Philadelphia Eagles owner/chairman Jeffrey Lurie...

Tim Tebow to the Arena League?

If Dennis Rodman can hang out with Kim Jong Un in North Korea while watching a basketball game then Tim Tebow can play in the Arena League. Come on! Crazier things have happened, right? Right? Apparently the Orlando Predators of the Arena Football League have offered the beleaguered quarterback a job should he become available and can't find any suitors in the...
