Steve Smith, WR, Carolina Panthers Player Profile Height/Weight: 5-9/185 Birthdate: 5/12/1979 School: Utah FANTASY FOOTBALL ANALYSIS Steve Smith had another solid season with the Carolina Panthers. He hauled in 73 catches for 1174 yards and 4 touchdowns. It wasn’t spectacular by Smith’s standards, but it got the job done and he is still Cam Newton’s top target. One of the reasons that is still the case is because the Panthers just simply don’t have a second option after Smith. Last year, tight end Greg Olsen finished second on the team in receptions (68) and yards (843.) However, on the ideal team, Olsen would be the third or fourth option. It’s too bad we might not ever get to see Smith with another weapon on offense to take some pressure off. Athletically, Smith is one of the top five receivers in the game, even if he did lose a step or two last year.  He’s not ancient by any means, but he is 33 going on 34 in May. The big question with Smith is how long he’ll retain his speed an...

Panthers DE Greg Hardy Looking For A Contract Extension

Joe Person of the Charlotte Observer reports that the agent for Panthers DE Greg Hardy has approached the team regarding a long-term contract extension. Hardy, 24, is entering the final year of his rookie, so it makes sense that he would be seeking an extension at this point, especially when you consider that he’s coming off of a breakout season that included a career high...

In depth 2013: Carolina Panthers

In a season where Carolina hoped to build on optimism created by Cam Newton’s electric rookie season, the Panthers stumbled to a 1-6 record out of the gate in 2012. Newton himself started slowly as well, throwing just five touchdowns to go with eight interceptions through those first seven games. But the Panthers and Newton both went on a run during the season’s second half....

Fantasy Football Player Profile – Jonathan Stewart, RB

Jonathan Stewart, RB, Carolina Panthers Player Profile Height/Weight: 5-10/235 Birthdate: 3/21/1987 School: Oregon FANTASY FOOTBALL ANALYSIS Most people believe that Jonathan Stewart is the best running back in Carolina. I am not, however I do think that Stewart can be extremely valuable for fantasy owners if given the right amount of work. He has shown in the past few years that...

Bucs have shown interest in Captain Munnerlyn

DeAngelo Williams, RB, Carolina Panthers Player Profile Height/Weight: 5-9/217 Birthdate: 4/25/1983 School: Memphis FANTASY FOOTBALL ANALYSIS I have always been a big fan of Williams and was always in his camp when people argued Jonathan Stewart was the better back but I might have to come off that a bit heading into 2013, mostly because neither one of them gave their fans much...

Former Carolina Panthers wide receiver Louis Murphy has signed a one-year deal with the New York Giants.Fantasy Spin:Murphy won't have much fantasy value in New York unless the team suffers multiple injuries with stars Victor Cruz and Hakeem Nicks taking up most of the targets.

Giants Sign WR Louis Murphy

Pro Football Talk reports that WR Louis Murphy has signed a one-year deal with New York Giants. Murphy and the Giants reached an agreement just a day after he visited with the team. The move adds some much needed depth to the Giants wide receiver unit that figures to lose Domenik Hixon and Ramses Barden at some point. Murphy wasn’t able to have a big impact for a Panthers team...
