The fantasy football season has arrived: the teams have been drafted, the cheat sheets pushed to the side, and fantasy owners now focus on who to start in week one. To help all those owners out there, here are my week one start/sits.

Start: Joe Flacco, QB, Baltimore Ravens: I am totally buying into the Joe Flacco love in week one. He faces a terrible Kansas City defense that was among the worst in football last year and made little improvement. Flacco had an impressive yet undervalued rookie season, performed remarkably well in the preseason, and is at home. All signs point to a great game.

Sit: Tony Romo, QB, Dallas Cowboys: Romo faces a tough matchup on the road against Tampa Bay. Without Terrell Owens and with Roy Williams dinged up, its tough to say how well Romo will fare against the Bucs new pass defending scheme

Start: Mike Bell, RB, New Orleans Saints: With Pierre Thomas out for week one, Bell becomes a viable number two back. Facing the Detroit Lions in what should be a blowout, Bell will get plenty of carries, as well as the red-zone touches, in this enticing matchup. If he’s on you’re waiver wire, pick him up and start him.

Start: Julius Jones, RB, Seattle Seahawks: Coach Mora said earlier this week that Jones should receive roughly 60% of the carries, less than expected. However, a matchup against the Rams at home and Edge still getting used to the Hawks’ system should give Jones plenty of carries against a poor run defense.

Sit: Clinton Portis, RB, Redskins: Historically, Portis performs poorly against a tough Giants defense. The Redskins are on the road and should get down early, leading to few touches for Portis.

Sit: Willie Parker, RB, Steelers: I can’t explain it, I just have this feeling…

Start: Josh Morgan, WR, San Francisco 49ers: Morgan is looking like Shaun Hill’s number one option right now. And Hill should pass a lot in what could be a shootout against Arizona.

Start: Antonio Bryant, WR, Tampa Bay Buccaneers: At home against a Dallas secondary that lacks depth, Bryant should have a good game. He has recovered from his preseason injury and will likely break off a big one against the Cowboys.

Sit: Terrell Owens, WR, Buffalo Bills: Owens is now playing for a Buffalo Bills offense that struggled last year and looked even worse in the preseason,. He is still adapting to the new team, and his new team is still trying to work out all their kinks. Trent Edwards is not the same QB as Romo was, and I do not like T.O. at all on the road against New England.

Start: Visanthe Shiancoe, TE, Minnesota Vikings: Farve likes to throw to his tight ends, and Shiancoe succeeded last year even with the Vikings’ situation last year at QB. Look for him to do well against the Browns D.
