Over the last few years, no position has been more rock-steady predictable in terms of the elite players as that of the quarterback. Since 2008, Aaron Rodgers and Drew Brees have occupied the top two spots in all but one season, meaning the top two players are about as close to a no-brainer as an episode of Jersey Shore. With those two perennial studs forming a tier of their own, you can make a case for the next four making yet another tier. After the top six shooters though, you’ll have to take some chances on a few gunslingers that are looking for bounce-back seasons, or those who entice with their annual upside. Just like in the NFL, the quarterback is the premiere position for fantasy leagues and is the one position where a single elite player can be the difference between a fantasy champion and a fantasy chump. 2012 Way Too Early Rankings, QBs 1. Aaron Rodgers 2. Drew Brees 3. Matthew Stafford 4. Cam Newton 5. Tom Brady 6. El...

Could Drew Brees Help The Bengals?

No, even though I am a big fan of Drew Brees (Boiler Up!), I am not lobbying for the Bengals to try to sign him. Even if it takes putting the franchise tag on Brees next Monday, New Orleans will not let him get away. But WhoDey fans should be hoping that contract talks between [...]

2011 Fantay Football MVPs: Quarterbacks

This past 2011 season has been an interesting one on several levels. The fantasy football world would of had quite a different drafting strategy had they known the outcome of the season. The quarterback situation for many teams turned out to be pretty strange this year. Of course you have your staple quarterbacks that continue to rack in the big points year after year. However, some...

MCCARTHY COMPLETES STAFF

McAdoo will coach the quarterbacks next season I first wrote about Ben McAdoo in the winter of 2010. I referred to him at the time as an up and coming young assistant who was on the fast track to bigger and better things. What happened Monday proved my instincts were correct. Not only did Mike McCarthy promote the 34-year-old from tight ends coach to quarterbacks coach, but he...

Baseball’s New Sweetheart

RouxI can’t escape it.  America seems to have this fascination with perpetually finding new sports stars.  In the past year, Eli Manning, Tim Tebow, Jeremy Lin, Aaron Rodgers, Jimmer Fredette, Rory McIlroy, and Kentucky freshman Anthony Davis are among those already anointed Hall of Famers based on one week, one month, or one season of success.  It’s [...]Sports...
