Sorry for the absence the last few weeks. The combination of touring (yes, I’m in a couple of bands, The Twin Cats and Cosby Sweater) and moving sort of got the best of me. So let’s get right to it. Here are some players you will definitely start, and some others you will definitely want to sit, for Week 5 of the fantasy football season. Suddenly, BenJarvus Green-Ellis has fumblitis. Should he still be in your starting lineup in Week 5? Week 5 Start ‘em, Sit em QBs Start: Peyton Manning Many were turned  off by his abysmal performance in Week 2 against the Falcons. It was Peyton’s first road game of the year, and I still think he is limited physically compared to what he was a couple of years ago. But Manning is perhaps the most “football-smart” quarterback in the history of the NFL, and he seems to be finding a way to make it work after his great performance last week. This, combined with the fact that he loves to stick it to the Patriots, who gave up 350 yards last week to a banged up Bills passing attack, makes Manning a start in Week 5. Sit: Ben Roethlisberger Ben, who is definitely not a rapist, seems like a must start at quarterback. But consider the fact that he doesn’t have the best record against the Eagles in their recent meetings. He is actually averaging well under 200 yards a game in the two games that he has played against the Eagles. Philadelphia is also one of the top fantasy defenses in the league this season when it comes to holding down opposing quarterbacks. Week 5 Start ‘em, Sit ‘em RBs Start: The running backs in the Green Bay vs. Indianapolis game This could be one of Cedric Benson’s most productive games of the year for the Packers. The Colts are sure to key on the Packers’ passing attack inan  attempt to keep this one close. This will further expose their weak rushing defense and allow Benson to rack up fantasy points. The Packers should also be keying on the Colts passing game. This means that Donald Brown should have one of his biggest games of the season, especially coming off of a bye week. The added rest and his ability to catch passes out of the backfield make him a great play in PPR leagues this week. Sit: BenJarvus Green-Ellis Team owners might be apt to play “The Law Firm” despite his fumble problems this week because of his matchup. Don’t be fooled. The Dolphins, despite their struggles this season, have still been really good against the run. Week 5 Start ‘em, Sit ‘em WRs Start: Reggie Wayne I like Reggie Wayne as a start just because of his consistency and the amount of targets he has from his rookie quarterback Andrew Luck. Wayne is by far Luck’s favorite target. He is still in the top 10 in the NFL in targets despite having a bye week last week. He actually leads the NFL in targets per game at with 13.3. Sit: Dwayne Bowe Matt Cassell seems to look worse every week under center for the Chiefs, and the Ravens are one of the stingiest defenses in the NFL against the pass. If you have a viable option you may want to sit Dwayne Bowe this week. Week 5 Start ‘em, Sit ‘em TEs Start: Vernon Davis Start Davis for two reasons. The first is that he is a killer at home. The second is the Bills have one of the worst pass defenses in the NFL. Sit: NY Giants Tight Ends The Cleveland Browns are having a hard time guarding wide receivers with the injuries and suspensions in the secondary. But their defense is still effective,  and it is actually doing a great job this year at preventing TE’s from scoring fantasy points thanks to the great coverage of linebacker D’Qwell Jackson and  safety T.J. Ward. Week 5 Start ‘em, Sit ‘em Ks Start: Phil Dawson He seems one of the Browns’ only options when it comes to actually scoring points. Thanks to key drops by their wide receivers, the Browns are constantly settling for field goals this season, and the veteran Dawson is one of the most consistent kickers in the league. Sit: Nick Folk The Texans have one of the best defenses in the league and are extremely good at keeping teams from getting into field goal range. Folk also had zero points last week as his offense struggles to move the ball. Week 5 Start ‘em, Sit ‘em Defenses Start: Minnesota Vikings The Vikings defense had a breakout performance last week, and it looks they could continue that trend this week against Tennessee. The Titans are one of the top teams in the NFL this year when it comes to giving up points to defenses. Sit: San Diego Chargers I know the Saints are winless after week 4, but this game should still be a shootout in New Orleans this week. The Saints are still scoring points, they just aren’t stopping the ball…and neither are the Chargers, who have one of the lowest scoring fantasy defenses in the league despite their 3-1 record. ***** If you have any lineup-specific start/sit questions, pose them below. Otherwise, good luck in Week 5 everyone! The post Fantasy Football Week 5 Start em, Sit em Lineup Advice appeared first on Midwest Sports Fans.
