Arizona: The Cardinals hit rock bottom in Week 8, getting shellacked by the 49ers right in their own back yard no less. Of course the road doesn’t get any easier, as they pay a visit to Lambeau Field and the suddenly clicking Packers. The Packers are playing better defense than they did last season, ranking 13th overall in yards allowed per game and are second with a total of 28 sacks. This doesn’t bode well for a maligned Cardinals' offensive line which hasn’t been able to protect Kevin Kolb or current starter John Skelton. With very little time to throw, Skelton nor any receiver not named Larry Fitzgerald are worth all that much; although Andre Roberts may be used as flex if you’re in a pinch. What you don’t want to do is make use of LaRod Stephens-Howling or any other Cardinals runner.  The Packers rank 12th against the rush, and play even better at home.Good Start: WR Larry FitzgeraldMiddle of the Road: WR Andre Roberts, TE Rob HouslerBad Start: QB John Skelton,...

The Cardinals have to figure out their QB position if they want to make a playoff run. Week 9 preview.

The Cardinals started hot but are slowing due to their lack of QB play.  Until they get some quality QB play they're not going anywhere. Honeybadger moves in with Patrick Peterson’s family to get away from Louisiana

Jennifer Hale of WVUE reports that Mathieu has moved to South Florida, where he’ll live with the family of Cardinals defensive back Patrick Peterson. Peterson, who attended LSU, and Mathieu are close friends.  After Peterson left LSU, Mathieu changed to No. 7, which had been worn by Peterson in Baton Rouge. Per Hale, Mathieu hopes to escape negative influences in Louisiana, where...

Kevin Kolb Is Still A Few Weeks Away From Returning

It doesn’t look like Cardinals quarterback Kevin Kolb will be returning to field any time soon. “Kolb has been doing some light throwing but doesn’t appear close to being ready to play,” writes Kent Somers of the Arizona Republic. Kolb was injured during Week 6′s loss to the Bills when he suffered multiple detached ribs. It would a surprise if he is able to play before...

Beanie Wells Progressing

Fitzgerald limited by Cards' offensive woes

TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) -- The Cardinals' offensive woes have limited their ability to take advantage of one of the best wide receivers in the game. A weak offensive line, erratic quarterback play and a largely ineffective running game have meant that defenses can zero in on Larry Fitzgerald more than ever, and he was already drawing plenty of attention. One of the game's best...

Beanie Wells Hangs With Some Friends

These guys have the hookups Juan…  Beanie Wells was in Scottsdale hanging out with some friends the other night.  The funny thing about this picture is that the guy on the right is a club promoter that I have know for a bunch of years going back to my bartending in Scottsdale clubs days.  I still play against that fool in multiple fantasy leagues and he is definitely one of...

Cards to get taste of 'special' Lambeau setting

TEMPE, Ariz. -- Paris Lenon was a Green Bay rookie in 2002 when he received his Packers indoctrination. Every year at training camp, the club has a tradition featuring kids bringing their bikes to Lambeau Field, sticking pegs in the back-wheel spokes, carrying a players helmet and hitching a ride across Oneida St. to the clubs practice facility while 250- and 300-pound players pedal...

Arizona Cardinals: Week 9 NFL Power Rankings (#23)

Last week: 23 (-2) Record: 4-4 I wish Dennis Green was still the Cardinals’ coach. Then he could shout “we are who they thought we were!” I never believed in them. They’ve never been ranked higher than 15th in these Power Rankings, even when they were 4-0. This is what I said about the Cardinals after their 3-0 start. Almost every year, there’s a team that gets off to a...
