Still my neighborhood Juan… 2012 Recap:  In 2012, Rodgers was the consensus #1 QB by most everyone and rightfully so, but I warned people to wait on QBs as there was too much depth to be spending a first round pick on Rodgers.  His overall season had him finish as the #2 fantasy QB only behind Drew Brees, but it was considered a disappointment based on his game by game point output.  Thanks to his 4,303 yards, 39 TD passes, 8 INTs, and with a solid 259/2 on the ground, he finished with 25.6 PPG.  This was nearly a 5 point drop from his spectacular 2011 season.  He started the season with only 3 total TDs in the first 3 games, followed by 3 TDs a game for the next 6 weeks, then only 4 TDs over the next 4 weeks, and finally he had 3 or more TDs per game over the last 3 games.  Streaky was an understatement and that inconsistency made it tough on the owners that spent an early pick on him.   What’s Changed: Greg Jennings left the Packers via free agency, but Rodgers will still have a ton of weapons at his disposal.  Because of multiple injuries to Greg Jennings and Jordy Nelson, Randall Cobb was able to gain a rapport with Rodgers that will carry over into 2013.  Nelson’s health is a concern, but Cobb and James Jones stepped up and should provide Rodgers with consistent big plays down the field.  Jermichael Finley is a wildcard.  He could finally live up to his abilities, or he could just fold again.  The Packers RB position finally was addressed in the draft with Eddie Lacy and Jonathan Franklin, so the Packers may run the ball more like they have stated over the years.  The biggest issue is the offensive line, which was only addressed in the 4th round of the draft with David Bakhtiari and J.C. Tretter.  Rodgers took 51 sacks last season, despite the fact he is mobile and makes good, quick decisions. Outlook:  Rodgers was far from the first round pick many slated him as in 2012, but the good news is his ADP has fallen dramatically.  I have Rodgers ranked as the #2 QB in my preseason rankings only behind Drew Brees.  I fully expect him to be a top 3 guy again based on the weapons at his disposal, the system his excels in, and his overall talent level.  I won’t be drafting a QB early in any of my drafts as the position in so deep this season, but if you stuck somewhere earlier in your draft and want a safe alternative, Rodgers could be your guy. Greg Jennings Says Feud With Packers, Aaron Rodgers Just A Joke

Greg Jennings is loving life as a rich Minnesota Vikings wide receiver, and in doing so, has taken a few shots at his former team, and former quarterback Aaron Rodgers. Jennings raised some eyebrows when he told the St. Paul Pioneer Press that he would take Brett Favre over “the guy they have now” at quarterback. That led many to figure that Jennings and his former quarterback...

Aaron Rodgers rips Magic Johnson, compares him to Jon Gruden

After watching watching last night’s NBA Finals, Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers sounds like he’s sick of hearing Magic Johnson analyze games. Everybody is the greatest everything. #bedtime — Aaron Rodgers (@AaronRodgers12) June 21, 2013 I really love Rodgers’ honesty.  As much as I like Gruden, he does fave...

Mike McCarthy: It’s ‘nonsense’ to doubt Packers toughness

Green Bay Packers head coach Mike McCarthy says it’s “nonsense” that his team’s toughness has been questioned over the last several months. “I think it’s a load of nonsense because I think the proof is in the pudding. If you watch the tape and the film and you win 12 games a year

Aaron Rodgers Rips Magic Johnson on Twitter

Listen. We all know Magic Johnson is the greatest point guard in NBA history (well next to my created Myplayer on NBA 2K but that’s beside the point). No one questions his supremacy on the court and his astute business acumen off the court. But can I be honest with you again? Magic is a [...]

Aaron Rodgers rips Magic Johnson, Jon Gruden in one brilliant tweet

JaMarcus Russell Has Slimmed Down

Black is slimming Juan… JaMarcus Russell finally got off his fat ass and started working out with Jeff Garcia, while probably cutting down on Big Macs.  Good for him in losing 51lbs and trying to get his career back on track.  For his sake I hope he lands on a team with a great QB that he can really learn from.
