60 Max Power O:
Every fantasy team general manager should make sure he or she include players from this years Green Bay Packers on their draft board. We are now at the time of the year when football fans have no mini camps, no training camp news and no game week news conferences to get our football fix. So, now is the time to get to the war room and start planning your fantasy team draft.
I figure I will take my own advice and begin my player research and where I can get the best player in each round of my up coming draft night. After looking through several magazines which have just hit the local magazine racks I discovered several Green Bay Packers who will be a great draft choices this year. First I will state the best of the Packers for any fantasy team, quarterback Aaron Rodgers. Rodgers could be looking at throwing 40 to 50 touchdowns to an outstanding group of receivers. Speaking of the receivers you will need to place Jordy Nelson, Greg Jennings, Donald Driver and Randall Cobb on your draft board. These receivers made 16 touchdown catches last year and should increase that number this year. I feel that the Packer offense will get more touches this season because of the improvements they made to the defensive unit during the off season. The one concern I have is that with all these talented receivers the Packers will line up on offense Rodgers will spread the ball around more than some other teams might. When this happens the individual touchdowns will go down and since you will not be able to draft all of the Packer receivers this could hurt your point total each week.
Now in the running game the Packers have John Kuhn, who scored a total of six touchdowns last year. I see no reason why Kuhn will not score that many or more this year. Kuhn might be a value in the later rounds of your draft. Finally, I feel the Packer defensive unit will be much improved this year with the draft choices they made this year including former Iowa Hawkeye Mike Daniels. I figure this unit should be a sleeper pick to earn you some surprise points this year. While the Packers defense will need to work hard to make you major points they still could be a value week in and week out. As we get closer to the start of training camp it is never to early to begin that fantasy team draft board. Remember the more you research your selections the better you will do each week.

Green Bay Packers cornerback Tramon Williams believes this year’s defense will bounce back and build ff of last year with the new pieces they’ve added from the offseason.
“At the end of the day, (did) we have a terrible defense? Yeah, we did, but we were productive out there,” Williams recently said, via the Green Bay Press-Gazette. “We did what we’ve always...
What could anyone possible have to worry about?
Green Bay is fielding roughly the same team it did last year when they went 15-1. They still have arguably the best quarterback in the league. And most of the nation has already penciled them in for the top of the NFCN again. Now it only remains to see what they have to do to make a run at another Super Bowl... Right?
While the Packers...
Over the weekend, one of them innernet wags tweeted this picture of a kid with a lush, blond flowing mullet to Clay Matthews, who retweeted it with a vague jokey comment, leading some to believe that the image is actually of a young Claymaker. The mistake is understandable, as it’s fun to believe people exhibited their most recognizable physical traits as early as childhood. As...
The NFL and Commissioner Roger Goodell has rejected the appeals of the four players he suspended for their involvement in the New Orleans Saints bounty scandal, as reported by ESPN.
Goodell told Jonathan Vilma, Anthony Hargrove, Will Smith and Scott Fujita that he retains "the inherent authority to reduce a suspension should facts be brought to my attention warranting...
AJ Hawk is apparently ready for the NFL season to begin. This video comes via Off The Bench and shows AJ playing touch football at a charity golf outing in Warren, Ohio. No big deal… Except as you’ll see, AJ shoves the recipient of a Troy Smith (Former Heisman Trophy winning QB) pass into a [...]
2012 NFL Season Preview for the Green Bay Packers.
Aaron Rodgers has completed 66.2% of his throws since 2009. That number becomes even more impressive when you consider how many passes his receivers have dropped. James Jones and Donald Driver rank in the bottom seven of the 61 wide receivers who had at least 125 catchable balls thrown their way over the past three years. According to Pro Football Focus, Jones has dropped 20 of 139...
There are plenty of little-known rookies on the Packers’ current roster, but diehard fans know plenty about all the returning veterans. Well, almost all the returning veterans. Herb Taylor was signed last December, and even though he was part of the team for the final three games of the season, he’s the forgotten man when it comes to projecting which offensive linemen will be...
A.J. Hawk, you need to wrap up when you tackle.
In this piece, Kyle Rodriguez of Colts Authority looks at some of the similarities between the Colts' fan base and other teams' fanbases. The perception, as pointed out by Rodriguez, is that Colts fans are fair weather fans. Being a Hoosier myself, I can tell you that there's no comparison between Colts or Patriots fans...
Calvin Johnson's got the kind-of-cool nickname — assuming you think being named for a cartoon character is cool — but did he have a better season than Jordy Nelson? Not so fast on answering that as we provide our thought-provoking Packers nugget of the day.
