LANDOVER, Md. -- The Cincinnati Bengals ruined Washington's home opener Sunday, scoring on the first snap on a 73-yard touchdown on a wide-receiver option and then fending off a Redskins comeback to win 38-31. Rookie quarterback Robert Griffin rallied the Redskins from a 24-10 deficit, leading drives of 80 and 86 yards to start the second half, but Bengals second-year quarterback Andy Dalton completed all four of his passes for 73 yards on a five-play, 80-yard march that he finished with a 6-yard scoring toss to tight end Jermaine Gresham with 11:24 remaining. Dalton's 59-yard touchdown pass to receiver Andrew Hawkins 4:16 later gave the Bengals breathing room they needed when Griffin took the ball over from the 2 with 3:35 to play. The Heisman Trophy winner moved the Redskins from their 2 to the Cincinnati 19 with seven seconds left before the game ended on consecutive penalties and a failed Hail Mary. After getting pounded by Baltimore in its opener, Cincinnati (2-1) h...

Fail to the Redskins! Here are my five keys to a Cincy win in the Capitol this Sunday:
1. Score Early/Get Ahead: The Bengals are on the road for the Redskins home opener. FedEx field is huge, and usually sold out. They will be loud and rocking as they get their highly-anticipated first look at RGIII. The Bengals would do well to get up on the skins by a touchdown...
The Bengals came out firing from the get-go in Washington to get things going for their young offensive squad.
The first play of the game as setup in a wildcat with receiver Mohamed Sanu under center. He took the snap and bombed it downfield to AJ Green who had beat Safety DeJon Gomes and cornerback DeAngelo Hall for the opening touchdown.

An MRI taken of Washington Redskins offensive tackle Trent Williams revealed a bone bruise in his right knee, the Washington Post reported Monday. Williams played through the pain for parts of the second and third quarter but was forced back to the bench. The team initially feared the injury was more serious. The Post reported that Williams was wearing a brace on the knee at...
The Redskins were dealt crippling blows to their defense last week, losing starting cornerback Josh Wilson, top pass rusher Brian Orakpo, and starting defensive lineman Adam Carriker in the game against St. Louis. The trio played 52, 18, and 2 of 71 snaps respectively. The Redskins’ poor defense had a ton of trouble stopping a Rams offense that isn’t great to begin with and after...
DOH! So close. Bengals 38, Redskins 34.1. Cincinnati threw the winning touchdown on the first play from scrimmage on a trick play. With QB Andy Dalton lined up on the line and WR Mohamed Sanu lined up in the Wildcat, Washington somehow, mysteriously, inexcusably lost tract of AJ Green. Green met up with Sanu's deep pass about 60 yards downfield and ran unhindered across the...
Early on in the game, the Bengals decided to pull out a big time trick and have WR Sanu throw a bomb to AJ Green. Is it beating a dead horse to say Sanu throws it better than Tebow? Probably. S/O to @sbnation for the GIF.

Left tackle Trent Williams was scheduled to undergo an MRI exam after hurting his right knee during the Washington Redskins loss Sunday to the Cincinnati Bengals in their home opener at FedEx Field.
No one plays this game injury-free, Williams said. Its part of the game. You take the good with the bad.
Asked whether hes fearful the injury is serious, Williams replied...

Redskins offensive coordinator and son of head coach Mike Shanahan might be looking at a fine coming from the league.
According to Mike Jones of the Washington Post, the Redskins were down 38-31 and Robert Griffin III was sacked for a 15-yard loss, and then on the next play spiked the ball to stop the clock with seven seconds remaining, on third and 25, tight end Fred Davis was...
