Favre and Rodgers: The Conversation

After hours of discussions with Brett Favre, Green Bay Head Coach Mike McCarthy addressed the media earlier today and spoke of a stalemate with the legendary quarterback. Favre never stepped onto the field in a Packers jersey during the past two days and at this juncture it doesn't appear as though he ever will again. Chris Mortensen and Ed Werder may have Favre texting them with periodic updates, but I'm confident neither have the details of a private conversation #4 had with his successor Aaron Rodgers. I have it on good authority that the two quarterbacks bumped into each other as Brett was leaving the training facility. Here is a transcript of the brief exchange: Rodgers: Hey Brett, the field is that way. Where are you going? Favre: I'm outta here, Aaron. Things just aren't working out the way I planned. Rodgers: What do you mean? Did you think they were going to roll out a red carpet for you? Favre: Well, uh, yeah. I'm Brett Favre. Rodgers: Dude, you've taught me a lot over the past couple seasons but what you're doing now isn't cool. Favre: What do you mean. I'm 100% committed to playing. If management doesn't want me then they should just release me so I can play for the Vikings. Rodgers: Just release you so you can play for our division rival? Favre: Why not? They have the best offensive line in the league, Adrian Peterson, a great defense and play all their games in a dome. Rodgers: Yeah, but... Favre: Come on, there were icicles hanging from my balls during that Giants game. You really think I want to play outdoors in January again? Rodgers (shaking head): I know you've had some issues with Vicodin, but maybe you should start taking some kind of anti-psychotic medication. Favre: I'm seeing things clearly, Aaron. It's you and everyone else around here who just don't get it. Rodgers: OK man, hope it works out for you. Favre: Oh it will. Remember, I'm Brett Favre.
