Fox Sports Wisconsin:
No one expected these two guys to show up at the same place at the same time -- maybe ever -- but there they were, former Packers quarterback Brett Favre and the player who took his job five years ago, Aaron Rodgers.
Though the two never had a very warm relationship in their three seasons together with the Packers -- and certainly haven't had one since Favre retired, unretired and was forced out of Green Bay in 2008 -- Favre and Rodgers presented the Comeback Player of the Year award together during the NFL honors show in New Orleans.
Prior to Peyton Manning being named the winner of the award, Favre and Rodgers had a funny, albeit staged, back-and-forth.
Favre: "You know, Aaron, everyone loves it when a great player makes a comeback."
Rodgers: "Yeah, but not always. Some people wish great players would just retire and stay retired."
Favre: "Good to see you, too, Aaron."
Then, the two almost hugged. First, Favre made a step closer to an embrac...

Brett Favre and Aaron Rodgers reunited on a public stage for the first time since Favre retired following the 2010 NFL season.
The relationship between the two was an interesting one. Rodgers was selected in the first round of the 2005 NFL Draft by the Green Bay Packers and expected to eventually replace an aging Favre. He sat on the bench for three seasons and finally thought he...
In the years since Brett Favre moved on from Green Bay and eventually retired (with pit stops in New York and Minnesota), it’s been discovered that the relationship between the legendary quarterback and his successor, Aaron Rodgers, was bristly at best.
That’s surely why the NFL put the two former MVPs together to present the AP Comeback Player of the Year award at the NFL Honors...
You may remember that Brett Favre and the Green Bay Packers didn’t end well. There was that whole Aaron Rodgers is the guy-taking-your-job / don’t-let-the-door-hit-you-in-the-ass-on the-way-out / what-do-you-mean-you-aren’t-retiring thing. Saturday, the two former teammates were on stage to present the NFL Comeback Player of the Year Award. They had banter before...

Let’s get to it.

The writers for the NFL Awards show did a fantastic job on Saturday night. They had Brett Favre and Aaron Rodgers present the Comeback Player of the Year Award to Peyton Manning, and did a good job touching on Favre’s constant uncertainty with his retirement. Everyone definitely enjoyed the bit, and Michael Irvin looked like he was on the verge of tears he was laughing so hard.[YouTube]
Saturday night was the second annual NFL Honors Awards show where the biggest AP honors of the season are presented to their recipients.
Alec Baldwin was on hand to host the show, and as far as sports awards show monologues go, this one was top notch (though nothing will ever beat Norm Macdonald‘s at the 1998 ESPYs). Baldwin didn’t pull any punches, as he went after Peyton Manning...
